This was the most helpful video I’ve found so far. Thank you!

The hex collet collar is always going to have a little bit of wobble, which is not a problem. If you're using a screw bit. Don't ever use drill bits with a hex base on them in a Colette collar because you will not get a true spin on the bit. These types of collar should only be used with the hex base screw bits. If you need to drill a hole, use an actual drill chuck or drill chuck attachment.

The drill reminds me of the black & decker firestorm drill, with the detachable chuck.

can the hex adapter lock the bit in place?

Not really. That’s the one issue I’ve noticed I have a problem with. I’ve tried different brand hex bits and they all tend to pop out when I try to pull the drill bit back out of the piece of wood I’m drilling. It’s not a huge problem with screw bits, but for drilling, the standard bit lock is preferred. I’ve pretty much just left the standard bit lock in place as a permanent attachment because of that. It’s easy enough to lock and unlock to replace bits.

Must be a really shitty drillbit if you couldn’t drill a hole in your finger with it
