In Norway we also have non-compete, but they have always only been enforceable if your employers are willing to pay full severance for the entire duration of the non-compete agreement.
I worked with a few companies in the defense field and broke non compete all the time. They were incredibly difficult to enforce if at all. As long as you didn't give trade secrets you'd never be in trouble and trade secrets are usually so specific that you could easily have a conversation about your job without issue (unlike other things)
I've been on a few of these non-compete's, not really a senior type but did get inside industry with 'special' knowledge in some manufacturing of appliances. After inquiring, on both sides of the contract I learned that very few actually engage this clause for any reason. In this day and age, there's not much left 'secret.'

In Slovenia, if the company wants to enforce a non compete, they have to pay you 2/3 of your previous salary during the non compete period. The clause is terminated as soon as they stop paying. There's also an upper limit on the max duration for the non compete
I made $16 and had a non-compete clause that extended for a full year. I had to swap industries just to get out of an awful situation. This is a HUGE W.

Let me tell you how much the FTC have been absolutely paralyzed in the last 30 years. When I was a kid, they were going to break up Microsoft for having so much software and Windows running on almost all new computers. "im about to ice those glaze donuts with these glizzy hands." -Trenten Merrill and you can quote me on that lol... and don't YOU even act like you DONT know what i mean...
I'm in Denmark, and here if you sign a non compete, then the employer has to pay you 50% of your salary, as long as the non compete is active after you leave your job. Which basically means very few people are offered to sign a non compete.
For example from an EU country, we have non competes in Poland, but for the non compete to be valid you have to be paid by the previous employer after you quit/get fired until the time on the non compete runs out, and they pay you your average salary from the past half a year I think (salary + bonuses you got in that time + public insurance tax), which is like a paid time off after you quit c:
So I work for a small trades company in a small town in the Midwest. Even we had non-competes for our employees but truly kept it over the heads of our technicians. This was so that we wouldn't get them all the training they needed "we send them to actual schools and Nexstar Events" to teach them, the non compete was always presented to me "inventory and fleet manager" so we wouldn't pay all this money investing in them and then have them leave and go to another local company or whatever. Glad this non-compete was made illegal either way just thought they rather brainwashed me into believing this was a good thing for us. Any thoughts or opinions on this, just curious what others from the outside think.
I work in the UK from a Health retailer. The Cocoa shortage is a huge deal. For people like Cadbury s, it hardly makes a difference. For independent companies who do high % cocao chocolate it is back breaking. Also, it's not just global shortage, it's commodity buyers that driven up the cost.
I'm currently watching this HBO Show called Tokyo Vice. It's about an American Journalist who starts working at Japans biggest Newspaper. He uncovers some shady shit obviously run by the Yakuza, and it's literally just this thing Apollo does ._.
There is an easy way to keep non-competes. If you want the agreement, you have to pay your former employees until the non compete ends (even if they left the company).
im kinda disappointed apple is giving up on the headset. I'm pretty immobilized from health issues and the apple headset was like my ultimate dream to comfortable use a computer for long periods of time. The only issue is how fucking expensive it is. But I imagine if they stay in the industry it'll go down over time, maybe that's naive
I think its over all a good idea to block non-competes. I think the senior partner and high cost salary employee cut out is fine. The only other cut out I would add is employer paying for school exceptions. If we pay for your degree we should get a noncompete for a reasonable time based on the degree.
My previous employer made me sign one so I couldn't work for a competitor or start my own business in the same field for several years. It was a caulking company. It was $10 an hour roughly 7 years ago.

22:33 Wanted to say he looks suspiciously like Anthpo and it seems like something he might orchestrate.
A quick search later, it seems like I was right
In Slovenia, if the company wants to enforce a non compete, they have to pay you 2/3 of your previous salary during the non compete period. The clause is terminated as soon as they stop paying. There's also an upper limit on the max duration for the non compete
I had to sign a non-compete when I got a job at a pet store for $9.50 an hour in an entry level retail position 😂
Cheeseball Man is literally Batman: "I felt like this city needed it"
in germany, all non-competes are usually WITH PAYMENT, meaning you get x Euro per month for that timespan.
i like how his head shaked side to side when he said “Oops All Wins”, looking like diglett emerging from the logo
i really liked the positivity for a change would love to have these more regularely
Anyone know the name of the 8bit song @ 19:12?
I think it's from Super Mario World, but I can't put my finger on it.
Its from Super Mario Sunshine. I think its the Delphino Plaza theme?
@@CouchSquirrel that's it! Thanks for the assist
Erik actually went sicko mode for this video this is so fire 🔥
You trying your best to make the stories a win is hilarious xD
I made $16 and had a non-compete clause that extended for a full year. I had to swap industries just to get out of an awful situation. This is a HUGE W.
As an occassional viewer of the marketing mondays who genuinely doesnt care about this kind of thing most times, i loved this one. I actually love lina. Shes doing the most out there.
I used the IRS tax filing thing. Saved me hundreds on tax returns (and I make less than 20k a year cus I'm in college). That money helped me pay for my car to get repaired. Thank you IRS. And fuck you TurboTax.
This happens all the time in the engineering world, I’m so glad it’s gone. It sucks when you’re working on a project you need help with, you hire someone, but the person you hired worked for the company you’re subbed to so even though they can’t help you finish the project with weeks to spare they’re sidelined to just watch you struggle
People who show up and watch a guy eat an entire tub of cheese balls: I don't know what I expected.
Let me tell you how much the FTC have been absolutely paralyzed in the last 30 years. When I was a kid, they were going to break up Microsoft for having so much software and Windows running on almost all new computers. Today, I get my dog’s prescriptions, streaming video, web service hosting, and pasta sauce all from the same company.
The ban just got semi-overturned, aged poorly

and you can quote me on that lol... and don't YOU even act like you DONT know what i mean...
This video has greatly increased my hope for the future, Thankyou glitzzy man.
I think I'm going to quit my engineering position to work for the FTC
For anyone wondering the Cheeseball man is a youtuber named Anthpo
I'm in Denmark, and here if you sign a non compete, then the employer has to pay you 50% of your salary, as long as the non compete is active after you leave your job. Which basically means very few people are offered to sign a non compete.
For example from an EU country, we have non competes in Poland, but for the non compete to be valid you have to be paid by the previous employer after you quit/get fired until the time on the non compete runs out, and they pay you your average salary from the past half a year I think (salary + bonuses you got in that time + public insurance tax), which is like a paid time off after you quit c:
13:59 sad to see atriocs league past hasn't left him yet, stay strong king
Atrioc is so humble. He went to NYC, ate a full jar of balls didn't even take credit
Cheeseballs, that is
Happy to see cheeseball guy is going through the same post break up experience every guy foes
Thanks for making it all wins, I thought these were some great stories and ending with cheeseball man is awesome. Hope he returns next year lol
While its not a hit right now. And apple will probably just give up, but when the tech catches up to the ambition apple will show up again.
This might be the single best US economic policy decision in more than a decade. Non compete clauses are evil and bad for the economy
I think its over all a good idea to block non-competes. I think the senior partner and high cost salary employee cut out is fine. The only other cut out I would add is employer paying for school exceptions. If we pay for your degree we should get a noncompete for a reasonable time based on the degree.
Finally some1 is covering this. Non compete is simply pro monopoly practice.
Big A you cant be pulling on my heartstrings with this super mario galaxy music
My previous employer made me sign one so I couldn't work for a competitor or start my own business in the same field for several years. It was a caulking company. It was $10 an hour roughly 7 years ago.
There are two things mentioned in this video that were literally plots of episodes of Leverage some time from like 2008-2010
Anyone know the song at 6:00?
