- A common question is always ... “what can I try that can help? Heat or ice?”
That’s what I want to share with you today!
Something that you can try on your own when your hand hurts or if your thumb hurts.
In this video, I share exactly what I do with my own patients and what I tell them so that they can do this at home to support what we do in the clinic together.
You get the best results in less time with therapy when your therapist develops a program that is easy for you to do.
I also think the order in which things are done also helps speed up the healing and recovery process.

This video has been of fanatic relief to me. I jolted my thumb (pushed out then back in) while getting myself up at the gym today and have been getting increasingly demotivated as my thumb gets stiffer and more painful to move. How long would you reccomend to leave it rest until I start attempting range of movement and motion rehab?
Thanks for watching. Glad this video was helpful. We can’t give personalized medical advice but if you watch some of the other videos that talk about gaining thumb motion that may help guide you. Normally I tell my patients/students if it’s not broken or torn, you can start gently moving - don’t be scared but get professional help when you know you need it.
I have trigger finger in both my hand in the middle finger.
Hope this gives you some insight into what you can do.
