I saw Liliac in Columbus, Ohio in late October 2023 and enjoyed every second of it. Abigail wasn't there, but Alexa is a damn good drummer and was a worthy replacement. Alexa also plays piano and I believe plays guitar, so hopefully she'll land with the right group if that's what she's looking for. They also had a guy with them playing electric cello throughout the show, and while he was into the performance and rocking out, I didn't catch his name, nor have I seen anything since about who he is or how he got hooked up with Liliac. Still, he helped fill out the overall sound, but since Sam's cabinet and Alexa's kick drum were both pointed right at me, it was hard to pick out the cellist's sound. Melody is incredible live. She's got the "it factor" in spades, she's almost always moving, and she's very engaging. They closed their set with "Dear Father," and by that point I had worked my way to the front of crowd and was standing between her and Sam. I caught her eye, likely because I was singing along, and Melody gave me a smile and a wave. Also, when she's singing and a big vocal moment is coming up, she takes the time to plant and get into a good stance. I appreciated that. I will be able to see them in early February in a little place in Harrison, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. They'll be opening for the great guitarist John 5.
I’m almost insulted that you were “leary” about this one. Sure, it’s your all time favorite. And it is a great song no doubt. With many a rock legend involved in the origin of it. You outta know Liliac well enough, they are not gonna screw this up. Says a lot about them to even attempt it. With the pressure they have to continually put out quality, it’s exponentially increased when they picks songs of this caliber. Good to see they impressed ya as they always do. Enjoy! Fang4life! RO&RH! 🤘😎🤘
No intention of insulting anyone my friend.. and you are right, I should have been more confident from the start..LOL!! A great band indeed !! Although I do wish they would grow their Original Catalog as well..
@@Popz2366I wasn't actually insulted, was being more sarcastic than anything. I knew you gonna like. As your aware, 3 albums of originals so far. And..., they are working on more new originals all the time. They recently posted some live videos of them going though a bit of the recording stages. And they were new songs that they were working on in the vids. No word on a release date but we do know it's coming.
G,day from Australia . This was done so well I can't see any diehard DIO/BLACK SABBATH fans not being happy with the outcome , true to the original with Liliac's signature banshee scream, and virtuoso guitar solo. The music was great ,the video was extremely well done ,even their outfits fit the theme, the black for the darkness of hell and Melody's white angelic outfit depicting heaven .an all around fangtastic performance . FANG4LIFE RORH
Better than the original in my opinion. Melody absolutely killed it. She voice and dramatic performance is without comparison. Sam continues to grow into one of the best rock guitar soloist on the planet. Great to see Abby back, she hasn’t missed a beat, pun intended. Justin and Ethan were all great in this video. RJD must be smiling down on this one.
I wish they would stop doing covers and grow their own originals. I also think they need to make changes in their management, their dad is doing great in production aspects. Not knocking anything they do as a group, but they are limiting their marketability with covers. I'd do away with keyboards and add a second guitar back like they started, you can always have keyboards on a backing track. A lot of the problems I have are with their fans begging for them to do more covers and saying they are the best band out there. You don't become super stars in the industry as a cover band, and they have shown they are better than being a cover band.
@@BadCowboy67 I read the comment, no offense taken here, I understand where you're coming from, and yes they have quite a diverse talent, good at original and covers, I think they did a great job on this, it's new to a lot of the younger crowd, which expands their fan base, and gives us older ones a great reflection of the past! I think they are still exploring what works for them, but one day they will settle into a grove, or who knows what they may do individually. It's a toss up, I still enjoy what they do, and for being independent they've come a long way! Personally, I can think of several songs they could cover and probably do a fabulous job at, but I'm not them, but they have my vote no matter if it's a great cover or original! BIGFANGHERE !
I saw them in October and agree that they played too many originals. They played “Crazy Train,” “Enter Sandman,” “Holy Diver,” and “Seven Nation Army,” the latter of which being the only one they should have played since it’s their arrangement. I feel like it’s time to cut the cord with the others no matter what place those songs have in their hearts and history. They did recently sign with TKO (or something similar) booking in order to get more opportunities, so hopefully that’ll pay off. They did recently announce that they’ll be opening for John 5 for some of his dates, the last of which I think I’ll be able to see. As for the rhythm section, I wouldn’t mind things staying the way it is, but I feel like Ethan and Justin both need to stand out more. Ethan is a damn good musician who I feel like is capable of more than he’s shown, but Justin needs to flex more. Too often it feels like he’s just there.
Chunkier and Heavier...Pure fire! Absolutely killed it.
Liliac’s is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
