Yep lots and lots. I am a very kind person, I am very proud of that but I also recognise that at times it has been my greatest strength and my greatest weakness all at the same time. When you constantly pour yourself unreservedly into others eventually your tank will run dry. It took me years to recognise how damaging it was to my mental health not to put myself first and making sure my tank was full before pouring again. Years Elle...lol...so you are ahead of the curve. This is life...lol.. we learn more from our mistakes than we do from our successes...shitty but true... our response is what shapes us. My 16 yr old son is trans and I support him wholeheartedly. When I get the inevitable "what if it's just a phase? what if she does the hormones and surgery and then regrets it?" from caring (or busybody) people in our life my answer is this... my mistakes have shaped who I am, if this is a mistake its his to make and it will shape him...who am I to deny him his own journey? I will be there for him no matter who he decides to "respond" into. I'm so proud of you! I know your mom is too. Thanks so much for going ahead of him breaking down barriers. Sending lots of love
