I've had my 5se for a little over a year and since then I've been watching various Nexstar videos on RUclips for instructions, tips etc...... THIS video you made BY FAR is the best I've seen hands down very very well made and informative. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
That beautiful pic of the crab nebula was taken through that camera? Was the photo enhanced to make it bigger? The first photo of the crab is from the naked eye view?
I appreciate you offering this video, but I'm a bit unclear as to how many of the planet and star views shown are what I'd see via the tele vs. your camera? Thanks.
Through the eyepiece the moon is far better than images. Planets like Jupiter and Saturn are quite crisp and many features can be seen, especially on Jupiter. Most nebula are just a faint fuzzy white patch tho, but many details can be made out of your in a dark area with night adapted eyes. Star clusters such as double cluster are amazing, bright shining diamonds of different colours, reds and blues
I am a beginner for this 5se. What recommendations would you give a novic user to view planets, etc. I have only one lens that came with this unit. We have been trying to view the green comet, but with this current set up I have we were very unsuccessful. Great video by the way..!! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hi. Thanks for this great video on the 5se. Its very well done. I have just ordered one and I'm very interested in Astro photography. Could you please explain what makes it "a real pain" to set up to take AstroTurf photographs? Is it difficult to get the scope to track the objects or what issues should I be aware of please? Just to give me a bit of help getting started. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I will make a second video on this. But in short, the entire tripod needs to be pointed towards north, instead of just the mount head like on a proper eq mount. These small adjustments to the tripod can throw off the tripods level, which in turn can make even more fine adjustments necessary. It can take me anywhere between 20 or 30 minutes to get set up and tracking, so i only bother to do so on very clear nights. It's definitely capable of astrophotography, but not much longer than 20s exposures. If its your 1st step into astrophotography it will be plenty enough to begin with. As you can stack an hours or 2 worth of data with multiple exposures. I love my 5se, but I will definitely be buying an eq mount whenever funds allow.
@@nathan16ish Thank you loads for your reply. After reading it though, I would REALLY like you to do another video explaining what is involved in "pointing the tripod towards North" etc. Ideally to show what we should be adjusting and what to look out for if it going to go wrong etc etc. An "idiots guide" would be brilliant for me.haha For example how could we (I) know when we need to make those "minor adjustments" and also how to do it-and for what reason. I'd really appreciate any help like that to get me started. I actually have a 'Push to' scope but even though I'm really interested in the night sky I find it so frustrating not being able to do any form of half-decent astrophotography and the subject matter just drifting out of focus almost straight away as my current scope can't track the object. 1 last question-how is the mount on this different to a proper eq mount? Thank you
@robertsonsid great question. I'd have to pick the c5. The dob is an open tube design so without putting on a light shield the contrast definitely suffers. They are both great instruments, the question in practice would come down too how want to view a target with the difference in focal length, or else what is more convenient and easy to use.
I want to get professional telescope 🔭 but which do you prefer for sky watch to see the universe 🌌. Nexstar 5SE Telescope or Sky watcher classic 250 Dobsonian ???
I have bought the skywatcher 16mm 82° fov nirvana eyepiece and I absolutely love it. Combined with the Celestron xcel x2 Barlow, and or the 6.3 reducer, I have pretty much all I need for now. Its very comfortable to use with lots of eye relief, and crisp about 80% of the field.

I have one of those also. Like all Celestron products. Scopes, binoculars etc.
This is great thank you so much! Can’t wait for my scope to arrive.

The 1st pic of crab is about the same fov you would see through the eyepiece. Second picture is cropped to get a better look
Some talented people have taken astrophotography to next level 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Whoops! It seems you neglected to actually REVIEW the telescope!

Have you used your dslr in taking photos of the nebulas and clusters?
@mac6217 yes those are taken from my dslr

I use the skywatcher nirvana 16mm eyepiece and the Celestron xcel x2 barlow
Would u recommend this telescope for beginners. Or do u have some other recommendations.
I would recommend a table top dobsonian for a beginner. Best value for visual astronomy

I wanna know if you are able to see some of the nebula with the naked eye like not from a camera just for veiwing
I think it may be possible in areas with a 2-3 bortle scale value
Yes you can see nebula and galaxies, tho they lack the colour
A very good video & great scope 👍

Nexstar 5SE Telescope or Sky watcher classic 250 Dobsonian ???
Definitely the dobsonian if it's visual astronomy your after.
very nice vid man! I'm on the market for a clestron nextar 6 se I hope I can get similar images thanks
What is the DSLR phone mount that you have connected to the Tube?
The dslr mount is called a T ring
Can you hook it up to a laptop so what you see through the lens appears on the laptop screen?
Yea you would need to connect your camera to the laptop and run a program such as firecapture or backyard eos
How much would one of these cost?
I think 1200 euro retail price
What telescope eyepieces do you recommend for the 5se?

@@nathan16ish is it possible for me to go as low as 12mm while still getting s decent image?
Yes should b fine
level of pollution light?
Probably roughly bortal 5
4se can do that too?
Similar, it's 1 inch smaller but has the same focal length I believe. They use the same mount
@@nathan16ish thanks!
can you see satellites with telescope
@@garry9880 not really, they appear as little more than a moving bright light
Where's the "review"?? 👎
