Otters are absolutely predators. A lot of people see them holding hands in pictures and play up the cuteness, but in the wild, if the population is short on females, they will take baby seals to let off that steam, and often violently, if you know I'm saying. They are in the same family of animals as mink, ferret, and weasel.
@@EversBlockbusters I reccomed casual geographics video about the honeybadger - who is _also_ part of the same family as otters and that should tell you everything
"How did this scene make it in?" Because it's so dang relatable. I once played in a superhero tabletop game where one of the characters had the ability to slow down time and her secret identity was a DMV employee.
This is one of my favorite Disney movies. It does an excellent job of telling an entertaining story while also delivering a message, without feeling preachy. I also really like how they had the main character, Judy, be flawed, and how they handled that. After Judy gives her disastrous press conference and Nick calls her out for having biases, , she very quickly realizes she was wrong and works to do better. Having biases doesn't automatically make you a bad person - absolutely everyone has them, it's pretty much one of those unavoidable parts of being human. What matters is trying to rise above them and overcome them. Another more recent Disney movie (well, Pixar) also tries to cover these sort of themes, but it doesn't do nearly as good of a job, unfortunately.
The scene where nick pretends to kill judy is genuinely bloodcurdling when you ignore the context of it being a family film. Your reaction was PRICELESS 🤣
@@EversBlockbusters Well, Disney have killed off a lot of characters, and not just villains. I won't give any examples, in case you haven't watched the movies in question, no spoilers. Disney movies aren't as kid oriented as a lot of people think, they can be pretty violent, and often have references to other movies that definitely aren't for kids, and they wouldn't get them, I am not sure a lot of kids would even get what it's about (prey/women, predators/men). They are talking about some real life prejudices and stereotypes in this one. I love Disney, or I did, before they went woke. I adore this movie, but sadly I don't think they'll do another one like this anytime soon, as I said, woke. That said, a lot of my favorite movies are Disney.
@18:50 Those are called 'Arctic Shrews" and are amongst the most vicious animals on the planet. They on average have to eat up to 3 times their own body weight a day and will even cannibalize other artic shrews to stay alive.
I like that she's all irate at getting parking duty on her first day. Like, girl, you are literally a day 1 cop fresh out of training. You're getting parking duty, no matter what your species is.
No, I think she was kind of right. The sensible thing for Chief Bogo would have been to team her up with one or two experienced cops (and maybe using her special abilities for the case). But he is biased against her. At least in my country "parking duty" is a complete different job and has nothing to do with training new cops.
For the record, Parking Duty is standard issue rookie work. It's a low risk, low consequence, assignment that allows the new officer to learn the patrol routes and see the city/town/whatever without a high chance of them being put into a dangerous situation without backup or more experienced officers.
"What do you call a three humped camel? Pregnant!" Keep in mind, the camels in the lore of Zootopia are seen, albeit briefly, to only have one visible hump. Let that fact sink in, in reference to the joke.
This has been my all time favourite movie for over 7 years now! I just couldn’t get enough of it back in the day & it still holds a special place in my heart. Love Zootopia Forever! ❤️
Otters are _vicious_ if you give them a reason. They mostly eat fish, but they are also highly territorial and there have been confirmed cases of Otters killing dogs that vetured too far into their teritory

I usually hate movies that try to jam a message down your throat. The message usually feels halfcocked and comes out of nowhere (Cough* Strange World *cough) But Zootopia actually does a good job of blending some reality into the mix. Using prey and predators breaks up the message so that you the audience don't feel singled out. You can identify yourself as one of either side of the argument. Whether you're a good person or a bad person we've all thought things that aren't PC. It also doesn't show the cops as good or bad, they're made of up predators and prey as well. It's just shows them for what they are. People doing a job that most other won't do. But it addresses a real reality of we try not to profile people and we shouldn't but if someone snaps. The safety of everyone is on the line. It's a rare movie that took a really really adult theme and made it a bit more family safe to discuss.

Two issues. 1) From Judy's point of view, the assumption that the cause was biological was correct, since the problem had only affected predators as far as she knew. 2) when a feminist says that all men are rapists or violent That's bad, and it's the same attitude as Judy but taken to the extreme.
