Hi, 20+ years as an appliance tech and 10 as hvac tech. Question: Why didn't you fill the system with nitrogen when checking for leaks? Had you found a leak, you would've had to recover all your refrigerant to fix the leak. I've always done it that way... I realize your way is faster IF there are no leaks. But if there is a pinhole leak in the solder, the nitrogen can just be quickly vented into the atmosphere, then you fix your leak, and then put fresh refrigerant in.
Our compressor was still working so brazed on a valve and replaced R134a (it's only 5 oz which is less than half a can you can get for automotive AC) and it's been working well for the last month.
Thank you for sharing this video...I have the exact refrigerator and the compressor has failed. It is under warranty, but it is good to know what will, and should, be done. Thanks again!

My upright freezer compressor is running supee hot and not in a freezing mode. I have replaced the start device.. Nothing. I have try the 3n1.. Nothing.
What could be the problem?
You’re not located in South Carolina are ya? 😂 I can’t figure out what’s wrong with my fridge. Everything seems to be working but only warm air blows. Probably compressor is shot eh.
How much did you charge dollar wise?
Could you provide part # for filter drier please? The one I purchased has ends that are too small in diameter.
How come ypu only add charge through low side?
That is the way to charge almost any system
What does a typical compressor replacement cost?
These are $800 and up.
So An FLB075LBNA can be replaced with an FLS075LANA ?
No reprogramming the board so the compressor runs correctly?
Hi great video. How much do you charge? I have a Lg and have to get the compressor replaced. Thanks
I asked the same question with no response
I asked the same question with no response
It's $600 and up if you get the compressor for free. But even if you do, they're still charging you full price like it wasn't covered. A local guy here will do it for $800 total. Parts and Labor. The compressor is $330. So the rest is labor, freon, solder, butane, and that stupid $125 control board updater. I'm so glad I didn't buy the 5 year extended warranty. Mine broke down 6 months after it would have expired.
how do you know the compressor not working
what brand refrigerator do you recommend?
Hello, was it not necessary to use the system updater?
How about brazing with Nitrogen, because if you don't, the system will clugged due to copper build up inside. Just saying.
Good work. THank you
Whats the price to change out a compressor just like that one???
My Elite refrigerator compressor has failed after four years. I've been told it's $8-900. I do know the compressor itself is $375
Did you go from a FLB075LBNA to a FLS075LANA? Compatible?
Invest in a tripod. Awesome me duzzy
Oh gosh no hate man however that’s not soldiering that’s brazing there is a difference also nitrogen dude its your friend i know its just a fridge and not a industrial AC unit good repair though also try using fitting like reducers plier crimping is not the best way to get a better wetting from capillary attraction
how did you figure out it was compressor issue
Bravo , 🇪🇸 saludos Spain.
Why does this fridge compressor fail all
The time.
How much do u charge for this?
$1100
How long are those hoses for your gauge
I don't have a Kenmore elite I just have a regular Kenmore refrigerator is this installation guide the same for a regular Kenmore refrigerator which is an older model
No. Kenmore Elites are made by LG. Different system. Crap!!! Mine just went out after 5 years.
@@TheFrenchPugyou know they will cover the parts just not labor @ LG not sure about Kenmore but it should be the same no?
@Saint Anger Yeah. They did. But the freezer is still messing up. Goes to 0 degrees sometimes then back to 20 degrees. Tech is coming out today for the 3rd time.
@@TheFrenchPug I was supposed to have the tech come by today for mine and they claimed that he had a family emergency. I would fix it myself but that would wave the warranty
Mine is under warranty. The compressor died. Labor is $809a 6 year old very expensive fridge. Total crap. My last Kenmore.
What kind of brazing rod do you use?
sil fos 5% or 15%
I’m a residential hvac guy. I’ve never seen flux used when brazing. Granted I’ve always done copper to copper.
What kind of flux is he using here?
Hi Technician, can you install the LG linear compressor to my Kenmore Refrigerator?
Unfortunately no
Shout out bos..❤️
great sytem, any update?
Is that an oxy acetylene torch?
can i solder instead of braze?
I don't know...can you?
Did you use 95/5 SoLDER
Pl do double brazing of pipe
If you need a 1706 hit me up.
How much for a tech to do this kind of job
1800
This make NO sense why don't THEY just get a new fridge!????
Isnt it not worth doing this?
My mom bought an lg fridge, hasn’t even finished paying it off and now the compressor is damaged and they want to charge 1,110$ to fix it. That’s absolutely insane to me and just sad the kind of products they are putting out there for the people who work their ass off to buy
@@marioglez1553 wow are you in Houston
@@marioglez1553 if is LG still on the 10 year warranty
@@TopAppliancesrepair I’m in Los Angeles,l
$1100 parts included in case you’re wondering I just got a quote right now
A Lawsuit was successful on lg compressors going out on refrigerators
You should be able to get one for free
We replace several weekly
Yes this true I had a tech out called a local guy to come look at it and he came in and said you need a new compressor right out the gate I ask how much is that I just replace my compressor in my truck 2 days ago cost a bit but he said $1200 but there’s a class act lawsuit and your compressor will be free if you call this number 1-844-553-6667 called and there schedule to come out Friday and there comping me for food loss as well not sure how much yet but ok I will take it I have the same kenmore in this video. I could do it myself but let them handle it. I don’t have the new program to flash the update but the rest is easy. But the service guy that came out was cool he was here 1min 38 sec. I told him I appreciate the honesty he could of straight ran the numbers on me and don’t have to tell me about the lawsuit and I was ready to get done ASAP. I told him I’m going to pay for his time he was good with $20 bucks is what he changed me. I gave him $20 bucks and a HOT BEER lol naw I had cold beer in the other fridge. Thanks to good people out there. Anyone that has a problem call the number and get it free
@@levitate9128 did you have to show them proof of purchase?? thats what they’re asking me for and the person that gave me the fridge doesnt have it anymore
@@anapaz9390 no I didn’t have to show them any proof of purchase and no questions asked. They know these compressor are Fup and there replacing a bunch of them but I will tell you this I still haven’t got mine fix yet but the parts are coming in the mail everyday just waiting of one more thing there gutting the whole system and replacing everything. But I found out Sears will not pay for the labor all parts are payed for but not labor. Labor in my area it’s going to cost me out of pocket about $475.00. And I can also tell you this LG had the same compressors in them and LG is paying 100% for parts and Labor. I found a LG refrigerator on Facebook for $100 that had the same problem as mine call LG to about and there also gutting it and replacing everything in it as well 100% covered and I didn’t have to prove anything to them not proof of purchase all the asked me is when I bought it I told them 3 years ago and they said ok we will cover it. The only thing is look at the date in the LG refrigerators for the date longs it’s not passed 4 years old it can be maybe few months pass 4 years maybe 6 months passed and they will still cover them 100%. So when I found this out about LG I bought 1 off the Facebook market for $100 and called them and service guy was at the door next day and there replacing all the gutts for free no out of pocket to me but the $100 and me picking it up (Winning) on that end
@@thebotlobbydaily thanks , I have the Kenmore elite model as well and it just stopped cooling , was bought from Sears , would they be able to replace it as it has been around 6 years since I had bought the unit?
