The whole mirror scene after the tarot reading when marko is taking all the makeup and costume props off and in the mirror the harlequin becomes increasingly more distraught until finally completely breaking down crying and disappearing! Then Marko cheers himself with the wine class towards the mirror. Gives us that sweet smile of his and walks away!😻
I legit got chills🥶the first time I saw the harlequin persona starting to panic and cry in the mirror!
    SO GOOD!🎸🔥🤡🔥🎸

The song is about the tragedy of the harlequin (comedy of art, 15th century). He commits suicide out of heartbreak, but the Fates condemn him to entertain the public for money while his soul cries, performance after performance in an eternal loop. A metaphor for the actor trapped by his character.
    Nice song, it surprised me.

5:58 I don't know what it's called in technical terms within the music industry, but I really love it when the ending chorus has those additional vocals echoing in the back, simultaneously with the chorus itself. It doesn't even have to be actual lines, just humming. And it elevates the whole thing.

There are often (not always) clowns, because the albums aren’t just compilations of beautifully poetic songs, but they actually tell stories with some characters reappearing in several videos, as is the case for instance with the Jeremiah Peacekeeper character whose costume and makeup evolved from the one of the character named Zoltar that Marko plays in Carnival of Rust. The costume features the striped shirt, feather boa, top or bowler hat and pale makeup with dark eyeliner, the way we see it in the Moscow 2012 live show, or in the videos Cradled In Love, Can You Hear Me, etc. Poets are a whole rabbit hole to dive into, they’re not only musically versatile (check out their Heavy Metal alter ego band Old Gods Of Asgard that features characters from Norse mythology, like Odin (Marko), Balder (Olli) and Thor (Captain)), but everything they put out there, music, lyrics, videos, promotional and album cover designs) is art at the highest level. You haven’t even begun to discover all of the different sides of this band, and I hope you’ll continue to explore and enjoy what they’ve created over the past two decades. 😊 Greetings from Finland!

Greetings from Sydney. You guys need to do some of their live from Moscow show. It gives you a totally different version of the band that you have seen on their live Alexander Theatre Sessions & also the newer album release videos. I think you will be blown away with how good a live rock band they are. Please have a look

This was by no means my favorite song from Ghostlight in the early days of the album's release, but it has really grown on me as I thought more deeply about the lyrics. As far as faves from Ghostlight, Hello Cabaret and Beyond the Horizon are battling it out for first place in my mind and heart. The sheer emotion expressed on this album surpasses much of what has come before, in my opinion.

Oh, this was pretty good! Will be one of them most popular Poets songs I bet. "Carnival of Rust" and "False Kings" are still better, but this comes close. Nothing wrong with Marco's singing, but every time it is his vocals that are the cherry on the top. This time for me the music out-shined the vocals. It was just so dramatic and catchy.
