I luv yr sweater n it looks comfy n warm.
How wonderful to see you again and share your fiber life. I’ve been feeling all those things you mentioned at the beginning, especially pain, grief, and deep depression. Your podcast came at the right time for me and I am reminded that there are so many things that bring me joy, especially fiber-y things. I need to do those more. I am a retired federal employee and the recent firings and attempts to get rid of federal employees bring me pain and sorrow for so many wonderful people I know who are still working in that system. I need to protect myself, mentally and emotionally, from the many assaults on decency that this administration makes and is planning to continue. I look forward to the realization of your cardigan dreams, and the words you can share with us in these dark times.
Anne, I'm so sorry some of this is hitting people you know and care about. I keep reminding myself -- joy is resistance. I think part of why is because it gives us strength to keep on and to keep resisting however we can. And thank you for the sweater book again!
@@DesertAgaveFiberArts, thanks for your kind words. I’m adopting “joy is resistance” as my new motto. Your Thread and Maple binder is BEAUTIFUL. Like you, I find journaling a useful tool. I’ve used the Bullet Journal method for more than a decade. I use a very simple method now that I’m no longer working. Seeing everything in one place is energizing.
Very brave of u to say it n i feel same . Im 68yrs n live in aotearoa nz n it seems like im the only 1 who gets it . Luckily doing something helps my knittings my go to meds. Kiaora for yr share 🎉🎉🎉😊🎉❤
Thank you for watching and commenting. Knowing we aren't alone is so powerful.
First time viewer here. I don't remember whose link I clicked on to watch your video, but I'm glad I did. Much of what you said resonated with my own journey, in addition to bringing me warm memories of my late Aunt Susan who lived in Corrales and loved writing. She ended up self-publishing her own novel, after being encouraged by members of her writing group that met there regularly. Thank you for helping me recall those memories and for your encouragement to embrace our fiber arts as a calm space in the midst of a turbulent world.
I figured out the connection! Your video was mentioned in a group for One Wild Knits. I saw Jen's presentation last weekend during the Knit Happy Summit and was very impressed with just about every aspect of her presentation.
Oh, how lovely to have brought up memories of your aunt. Corrales is such gorgeous little town; it must have been a happy place for her to write.
Jen is fabulous, a fantastic designer, educator, and friend. I'm glad you've found your way to the One Wild slack.
