Porter Cable makes awesome nail guns and impact drivers, awesome tools period. I love the brad nailer, i use mine, running trim. It's easy to load nails and the 2 safety features are awesome as well.
Great information on the tool but what type of woods or projects is it use for; for example, I saw a video using the tool for molding. I have never used one. Thanks, God Bless
Not sure why installing the battery was demonstrated but not installing the nails. I'm just the average DIYer with cordless drill, oscillating tool etc so I think most of us are familiar with attaching batteries. However I just purchased this nail gun and have never loaded nails before. I'm sure it's pretty simple but important to know nonetheless. This is the third video I've watched on this nail gun and not one has demonstrated loading the nails. Is there a reason I'm not aware of? Still appreciate demo.
Nice review.. not to long and on point with basics of the nailer. Got one on order due in a couple days, curious as to if your still happy with it and if it's still running okay for you after a couple years?
So sorry for taking so long to reply, I don't see so many comments as I don't get notified. I just used the nailer a few weeks ago and it's still working just fine.
Honestly I've never noticed. I've used it at all kinds of crazy angles as well as disabling the safety so I can use it at even crazier angles. Never noticed any strange sounds. Used it as recently as 2 weeks ago and is still performing well.
@@SteeveeDan Mine works great I just noticed it after on boxing it today that when I turn it to the left so that the left side of the nailer is facing the floor and I pull the trigger it shoots the Bradnell in and then at the end of the cycle it makes like a weird noise. Not like when you shoot it at any other angle
The review on the tool is quite good. On the safety side.... there are some issues. Anything that can launch a projectile regardless of velocity is to keep one's finger OFF the trigger until it is the exact time to fire the unit. That seem to be the rule of thumb. For most of this video Steevee had the battery attached and finger on trigger. At one point, Steevee manually bypassed the contact trip trigger with his left index finger while having his right index finger fully wrapped around the trigger. I sure hope Steevee had his camera on a stand and not his girlfriend filming because the barrel was pointing right at the camera. Steevee seems like a nice fella but I will definitely will not go hunting with him. Remember when Dick Cheney shot his buddy while hunting quail in 2006?
The Porter Cable and B&D batteries are nearly exact, but they are "keyed" differently on top, making them not interchangeable out of the box. Same goes for Craftsman batteries. They can be made to be interchangeable by dremeling the plastic keys off.
@@pablopalacios5886 I bet inside is same, I can check. I took apart the dewalt and black and decker batteries and found the same samsung cells inside. But it probably depends on the year and model of the batteries too.
Mine is brand new of a couple years BUT, only used once. I just pulled her out, battery charged, and it does nothing. The trigger does not compress at all. Am I missing some lock button release or something? I've looked EVERYwhere for something on this.
I loaned mine out and won't have it back until tomorrow, Saturday the 31st. I honestly haven't used mine in a while and I can't remember where the locks and safety features are. When I get it back it will all come back to me and I'll reply again.
@@SteeveeDan I appreciate it. I made like the most bone-headed mistake ever...seemed I look ALL over this damn thing and didn't see the tiny safety switch inside the hand grip. Duh - I got it and much appreciate your comment.
Ive had mine about a year now and it doesnt shoot anymore.. It whines up and never shoots, got my money out of it but really wish it still worked. Any idea where to send it off to get it fixed?
Great, great nailer, I have it and love it... any ideas on how to store it, since it's so bulky? I'm looking for ideas to make a small dock or some kind of hanger... any thoughts?
To the best of my knowledge Porter Cable didn't put serial numbers or date codes on this and many of their other "newer" products, just the model number. Sorry!

It's a good design for sure.

I've used it for trim and pine boards in different projects.

Had lotsa folks ask for a nail install video, so here it is from a few years ago. Hope it helps. ruclips.net/video/eWvppVwv5bw/видео.html

If you shoot yours with the left side of the gun facing the floor does it make an odd noise at the end of the cycle

@@scottyfixer452 Huh, I really have no answer, sorry.
Would it be OK to use as a framing nailer for personal use? I want to frame my basement.
It's way too light duty for framing, it's more of a trim gun.

I've used this gun a million times and the safety is very predictable. I appreciate the comment though!
looks like a black n decker battery would be a direct fit
Never thought of that!

@@pablopalacios5886 yeah I cut it out with a exacto knife and it fits. Its a nicer battery too the porter b/c it has a indicator on it.

@@kirkeric Great!
Had mine about one year. Only hits about 20% of the time with nails in it. If I remove nails it will hit everytime. What to do?
Mine almost never misses. Sorry but I don't know what to do about it. Maybe it's the just the way they were built, I really don't know.
Mine is junk too. Shoot 3 then nothing pull battery reinsert shoot 1 then nothing
So it doesn't do staples? I need a separate gun??
Correct, brads only.

Sorry to hear that. So far, mine works great (knock wood). Try this link - www.portercable.com/support/find-a-service-center
SteeveeDan thanks but there isnt anywhere within 100 miles of my address that can fix mine 😂
That's not cool, sorry Archie.
great review thanks
No one is showing how to put the nails in.

Honestly, I store mine in the box it came in and set it on a shelf when I'm not using it. I leave the charger on my work bench however.
Where is the serial number located, and product date code please SteeveeeDan
To the best of my knowledge Porter Cable didn't put serial numbers or date codes on this and many of their other "newer" products, just the model number. Sorry!
Thinking of buying one of these instead of ryobi, thanks for the review buddy.
Glad it helped, thanks for the comment.
Mine don’t shoot nails every five or six tries before it shoots
Why are you reviewing our brad dealer and your title says that you’re reviewing a finish nailer
Sorry, I'm not reviewing a brad dealer!
Filling this machine with nails apparently is difficult for some so here is quick video showing how I do it - ruclips.net/video/eWvppVwv5bw/видео.html
Getting the nails loaded is difficult. Why aren't these useless videos showing this?
Are you a moron ?? Just curious.
