Happy Saturday to All! I don't want to step on Andrea’s toes but I was a RN at MD Anderson in. Houston and feel compelled to say this. Please please everyone don't forget your SPF on the top of your hands. I just had a large piece of skin removed on the top of my hand for squamous cell carcinoma. I have had 4 Basel cell and 3 squamous cell removed, this one on the hand was the largest and worse. I thank Andrea for consistently beating the drum for SPF compliance. Hope everyone has a great sun-safe weekend!

And lips!!! I’m not even competent at high school biology, but I rarely see lip spf mentioned on RUclips. My lips rarely chap but I have extremely dehydrated skin in an intensely arid climate. Ya gotta wear the spf!!

I’m a front end mgr at Walmart. We are not limiting self checkouts to plus members but some are choosing to make their self checkouts express lanes of 10 or so items or less to cut down on skip scanning, tag switching and other forms of shoplifting. Hope this helps clear that up
Hey Dr. Dray, speaking of umbrellas for the sun, I bought a UV Sun Umbrella on Amazon last year for about $19 and it's the best thing I have purchased in a while. My umbrella is super compact, but opens out to a full size. It's silver on the outside and black on the inside, though there are plenty of other colors. It does a great job of blocking sun and heat if you're outdoors with no where to seek cover! (I have vitiligo so I burn like paper, and a sun umbrella in addition to sunscreen and protective clothing means no sunburns for me.)
Thinking about sun protective clothing, would love to see a spring/summer haul for wide brimmed hats, cool long-sleeved tops, etc!

That book The Hiding Place - the story of Corrie tenBoom was incredible. The most memorable (true) story I read as a child.

My Sister Diane Grad. Art student from Rice U in the early 90s and was given the job of being Co Curator of the Houston Museum of fine art.. But she died tragically just before official graduation. Her husband as well. He was a PA (Grad 1st class of PA's & best bud was PA to two US Presidents) A Dermatologist and Admin of the VA in Houston. Miss them !! God bless!!

When an employee tells me that the self check-out is available, my comeback is always “ I don’t work here”.
I actually prefer self check out because I like to bag my own groceries. When a clerk bags my groceries, it drives me nuts. They put glass by glass ! They put anything w/anything to be efficient.
I know what I want w/what so it's more efficient for me to put groceries away when I get home. I want cold things together. I never put glass together. My dad owned a grocery store. I worked in it w/him. He taught me how to bag groceries the best way.
The ability of some painters blows my mind. Incredible. Thanks for taking us w/you to the museum.

I grew up with my dad's bathroom always having a bottle of Suave lotion and a bottle of Lubriderm lotion. The bottle brings me back to my childhood home.
I used to buy Lubriderm’s AHA lotion. I haven’t seen it in years but it was a an economical moisturizing and smoothing body moisturizer. It did have a slightly “sour milk” scent but it faded quickly as the moisturizer was absorbed. I do wish the Gold Bond retinol lotion would hit Canada. Most retinol body lotions are prohibitively expensive. Thank you for sharing your favourites. Have a great weekend everyone ❤

I did laugh actually regarding self-checkouts at Walmart. I am not on Facebook, but someone told me a person posted said they were waiting for their W-2 since they most times are forced to use the self-checkout if there are no cashiers at their checkouts, which is frequent. Cracked me up.

I live on Arizona, so I understand heat. Luckily though, Arizona does not have humidity. Yes I've seen nut cases running/jogging at 2:00 pm to 6 pm..the hottest part of the day. Ridiculous! I understand your comment about scorching hot outside and businesses cranking the A/C to the point that one must have some covering (windbreakers, jackets) to keep from shivering. It's terrible.

Thank you Dr Dray for helping to positively improve my skin everywhere. One example is I have my CeraVe tub right next to my shower to put on my body while my skin is still wet and then air dry with it on. Seriously, works wonders for my dry skin to really lock in the moisture and decrease the transepidermal water loss with the added ceramides. So gooood.

Ok so the blue Lubriderm is my absolute favorite! I have weird thing about being dry but also hate stuff on my lower body skin (it’s a blast ) and that lotion is the only one I can stand. It absorbs super quick and is available for pretty cheap at Costco

The Walmart self-checkout thing is not an effect in our small town. They knew people would steal from the self checkout. They just thought it would be cheaper than paying employees
It's a coincidence that you posted a video about the Lubriderm lotion, as I was just searching for reviews from you on this product and found none. It's great to finally see your take on it and that you like it.
I completely agree with your opinion. The Lubriderm daily moisture lotion (fragrance-free/blue one) is excellent. In my lab, every manager keeps a bottle on their desk and they all highly recommend it. I've tried it myself and was impressed with how quickly it absorbs and that it doesn't leave a greasy residue on the skin, which I really dislike. I strongly endorse this lotion.

as a skincare junkie, ii always use a sharpie to date every tube, jar & bottle as ii use so little at a time things last a l o n g time... kind of like intuitive eating, tuning into the need du jour helps with preventive & protective applications...
This came at the perfect time, I’m running out of my fave but most likely discontinued body butter from Josie Maran (blue tub) I need a good substitute.
The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom is about her & her Dutch family's story of hiding Jews in WW2. It's an amazing, uplifting and worthwhile book. I think you'll enjoy it.
Tell me about 😅 i also go through a lot of body moisturizers. For instance now I'm almost over with the cerave moisturizing lotion the big bottle 1000 ml. Always moisturize from head to toe and the results speak for themselves because by keeping the skin moisturized you aiding to just like a blacksmith polishing his masterpiece 😊❤. Thank you for mentioning if pimps are easy or not. It’s important to know as it’s hard for me to pump and open and when I buy stuff for my 80 yr old mom it has to be extremely easy to navigate use.
I have to choose skin care based on ease of use. Only 56 years old but my hands are really weak from MS. There are some things I love, but I just can’t open them.

I always used Neutraderm back in the 70’s. My Dermatologist even mixed in antibiotics with it to treat my horrendous acne. Wish they still made it!!
My Walmart recently started 15 items or less for the self checkout. They didn't care before ugh. Like you said, they intentionally have less cashiers to make the checkout system worst

Can you explain the use of thr titanium dioxide in the basic moisturizer? Whitening agent meaning? Just making the lotion look white or slightly lightening/brightening the skin as well?

Dr. Dray I have been noticing 4:41 this problem a lot lately! I have the EOS shaving cream (which I don’t really care for but I’m trying to use up) and a shampoo/conditioner by Marc Anthony and OMG I have to sit there and pump them FOREVER because they distribute the smallest bit of product!
By the way, have you replaced your XTERRA treadmill? I bought the same one.
I get hormonal acne and I'm trying to simplify my routine so I don't "weigh down" my skin and cause more breakouts. But, I've used Squalene at night after my moisturizer. Should I cut this out? could it be leading to more breakouts? thank you!

I visited family in mid Oct a couple of years ago. It was 105! I was dying! The next morning it was 52. Crazy.
The maroon lubriderm is definitely more emollient than the blue one. Thr blue one is super watery imo and not enough for my very dry skin!
I prefer the maroon one over any of the others shown in this video. I've tried the blue lubrideem, gb eczema, and gb diabetics. I have tried the gb retinol but couldn't tolerate daily use so it's not an accurate comparison except for that fact

@Dr Dray, would you please do a video on bath different bath products, i.e. bath salts, bath bombs, bubble bath products? I used a Sol De Janeiro bath bomb once and had terrible allergic-like reaction. But their lotion and shower gel seems fine. I would like to know safest options for bubble baths. Thank you!
