I am a writer, and music has often served as a muse, or as a companion through my journeys, but for the past almost decade I have been in a slump, nothing I heard lit that fire in my creativity the way that it used to. And then, i don't even remember how it came about, but Dimash popped up on my RUclips. I had seen his name before, and heard all the "Best Singer Alive", "Best Vocalist to Ever Live/In the World", but never bought into it, but that day I decided to give him a chance, see what all the fuss has been about. That was that, I was done for. Not just because of his voice or skill, but because of the person he is; the way he comports himself, how kind and generous he is, his beliefs about what in life is truly important, and how connected he is to his fans and the world around him.
Since you mentioned it, I watched in a video recently of Dimash's Screaming at the Idol Hits that had Behind the Scenes footage where he discusses the incorporation of traditional folk music of various ethnic styles into more modern songs and more modern techniques as a way to keep traditions alive for upcoming generations. It's something that is incredibly important to him, and I for one could (and may have already done) weep with joy that he is using his platform for such a purpose. I would love to see you react to the whole thing, i will post the link at the bottom! His ability to interweave various techniques and styles of singing is another big reason he stands out for myself personally, as it's not just the same old songs over and over on the radio, bland and nearly indistinguishable, more mastered and autotuned than honest talent (obviously there are exceptions). He's made music art again. ❤

Dimash decided that he wants his instrument to do whatever he wants it too. He trained very hard to be able to do what he does. His transition's are seamless. He uses what ever note he feels makes the song. Nice to see the world catching onto this artists. He didn't go the usual route which is why its taken him so long to break out. He would not compromise his music for the big buck. He does it all, he performs songs in 15 languages; Russian, English, Mandarin, Sicilian, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Arabic ,French, German, Serbian, Turkish,Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, and Japanese. Besides his native Kazakh tongue.
He speaks fluent Russian, which is still an official language in most former Soviet Republics. Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn.
He is working on his doctorate in music.
This level of music people have been crying out for years.
Enjoy the Dimash journey.....your son could learn a lot just by following Dimash, many music students and singers do.

THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!….. With beautiful chords from the “KOBYZ” (a two-string Kazakh instrument), Dimash give us a high level of mastery and perfection of his voice. He runs through 5 octaves (C2-F6) soft, DEEP, high, modulations and beautiful melismas to finish on a sustained note of madness in 19.52 seconds (F#5)…..Saludos desde México ! 👏🏻❤️🇲🇽🇰🇿

Thank you so much for this reaction! It is such a pleasure to see new “converts” to Dimash’s amazing talents. He does a variation of this song on the Chinese “Shine! Super Brothers” show which is also a pleasure to listen to despite the fact that Dimash was suffering from a severe sinus infection at the time (which resulted in him dropping out of the show and eventually getting some kind of surgery). Just listening to him you would never know he was sick. Here is the link in case you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/thbgh0qIscI/видео.htmlsi=hSzL1QHy_trS466n
On the same show he performs with several other competitors in a Queen medley that really rocks: ruclips.net/video/Ma3DnxvFVSM/видео.htmlsi=u3tte7MDJBQ-lTwh Quite different from the one he did in 2019 (?) with the Super Vocal Boys, but both are great: ruclips.net/video/f3nklZEstm0/видео.htmlsi=KmbcCel1Kz0zSlFv Again, thank you for your reaction.

He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Qobyz for that.
The Qobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter.
As a Kazakh he speaks Kazahk and Russian fluently. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range. And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable.
Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
He wrote this song and others especially for Dimash’s wide vocal range.
Please react to Olimpico from his Arnau concert in 2019 next. In this song he sings in Italian. You can find it on Igor Krutoy‘s Channel. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. It was written for the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus 2019. And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating.
This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favourite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war and is calling his army to a lost battle 😅! It’s absolutely stunning. And I don't even mean the vocal part, but also his stage presence. The whole package. Oh wow I’m starting to rave again…🤤 Sorry but I can’t help it🥺. I swear it is mind-blowing 🤯

Thank you. Hope Dimash sings your song! The 2 stringed instrument is the Kobyz. It is an ancient instrument and possibly the oldest 2 stringed instrument. 'Stranger' was composed by Igor Krutoy (on piano) specifically for Dimash's vocal abilities. They have many wonderful collaborations that you should check out. This song and performance is epic! Great reaction! 👍 Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. I love Dimash’s different voice textures specially the Middle East vibes in those riffs and runs 🎤❤️🔝🎼👏👏 Igor Krutoy said “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way”
The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 The Kobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. 🔝🔝

The strings are made of horsehair and "gut" a type of sinew. I don't know where you received the background information, I grew up in Kazakhstan, the Quobyz is the traditional instrument of the nomads of the Kazakhstan steppe, played by many people, not shamans. They are the "singingest" group of people I've ever known having a song for literally everything ! My sister and I joking, you KNOW they have a song for teeth brushing, I'm afraid to ask ! Raised from birth to be quiet and dignified at all times, once they get to know you, their loyalty is unsurpassed. My sister and several friends went to uni with him, our parents are friends. Now THEY have some stories. A favorite of mine is a friend calling, you know how cold it is here right now right ? No, I'm temporarily brsin dead. Well I agreed to tutor a girl today and the only time we could do it was 5 this morning. OK. Well here I am wearing duofolds (long underwear) 3 pair of wool pants and sweats, 14 sweaters hee ! my arctic parka, wool cap. I'm trudging across campus 4;30 a.m. blistering cold, my eyeballs freezing to my lids, dark as a cave and I took a shortcut through the gym. And ? I'm crashing around alone in the dark and heard a noise and almost peed in my pants ! I smashed into some lockers, colder than whatever, careened around a corner and there in the dank dark was Dimash wearing a suit and pro cap slipping into the pool ! Proceeds to do laps ! Did you say anything? Did I look crazy last time you saw me ? Heck no he was in the Dimash Zone never to be seen again until he performs again or his Mother comes. I laughed till I cried !

@@PatriciaPalmer-o3e I have read the same thing and I believe the short film about the origin of the Kobyz at the Almaty concert tells the mythology of how the Kobyz came to be. There are many articles from various historical sources that say the Kobyz was used by the steppe baksy (shaman-healers) for various rituals. It doesn't mean no one else played it. Obviously today in modern times, many people learn to play the beautifully sounding instrument. And now that Dimash is promoting the instrument worldwide, many are going to be wanting to learn to play it from all over the world.

@@bejewel4669 Actually they now begin learning starting in 1st grade. He lives traditionally, the extended family under one roof, they don't leave home before marriage, the men bring their brides home to live, the woman do not see their birth families for one year. He's a direct descendent of a 14th century noble family of the Khanate of the Junior Zhuz, lineage of the utmost importance in his culture, presented in ceremony to his paternal grandparents to raise. From birth he was raised to assume the duties and responsibilities of his station as ceremonial head of his clan at 18, his Father titular head. He takes his responsibilities with gravity and performance them, for instance Tusau kesir, with grace and dignity. His grandfather was a Master Player of the Quobyz, received his country's highest medal of honor for his cultural contribution to his nation, he taught chess and the Quobyz to Dimash aa a little boy and they played both together until his Grandfather's recent death. While I'm thinking about it his name is Dinmukhamad, the translation is Prophet of Allah Mohammed not Gift From God and only he knows where that came from. 👋🤣 and don't read all the dreadful nonsense about he and his family on the net ! lately saw some of it, couldn't believe my eyes, people must make things up out of nowhere. From my point of view, I cannot make a top ranking of Dimash's songs, the original ones, regardless of the composer (Igor, Dimash or someone else), leaving aside the covers. I come back to the idea, so I can't make a top. Why? Simple: each song by Dimash has a different theme, a different melodic line, different feelings, different tonalities. Each track is unique in lyric, interpretation, musical essence and message. If you listen to one, you like it more, if you listen to another, you like it even more, you can't decide because you can't. There are pieces with a religious touch, patriotic pieces, pieces of love, pieces of courage etc. If in an interview Dimash was asked what song he likes, I don't know what answer he would give... Almost all of them are masterpieces. It is as if Dimash is a father of dozens of children. I don't think he could tell a difference between them. Each piece has its place in time and space, it is appropriate in a certain context, event. Each song takes you on a certain journey, be it magical, be it angelic, be it love or be it a story, either sad, or happy, or fighting, or patriotic. We have to be consistent and say that all the pieces are exceptional, not one can be compared to another, because a parent loves all his children the same!!! Second:
Dimash is a miracle, so his absolute powerful and unshakable presence on stage, compared by some to a god of music, sometimes to a prince or king, the energy he absorbs from the Universe, then how he anchors himself to the Earth, his connection with the Divinity, all at a place, it gives him the strength and confidence to "command the audience, to order the orchestra, to order the song", so that everything comes out the way he wants and how Dimash feels, that is unique. All these qualities are only at Dimash, absolutely. The goosebumps and hypnosis induced by Dimash are the characteristics of his concerts and appearance on stage, which are shaped by his endless beauty, sometimes translucent, sometimes sensual, sometimes angelic !!! Dimash is storm, thunder, lightning, sun, rain, smile, but also love and last but not least he is our hope and our daily light, he is our spiritual food when you put your head on the pillow and start dreaming like tomorrow it's a day… !!!!! Dimash has God's kiss on his heart!!!! Dimash's cerebral hemisphere are like the mathematics of song. The precision, the climax of the pieces, the breath control, all are mathematical. Nothing higher, nothing lower. Absolute accuracy !!! Not to mention, he has the number of destiny 7, the number of God. One more proof that Dimash is sent by God in the art of love through song!!!

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than twelve(12) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. (Another of his successes was including a sybyzgy in "Hello" by L Richie in "I am a Singer", 2018). Dimash is a vocal chameleon and a very good arranger. I hope the mothership never picks him up!

Called a Quobyz ( ko' bish) the strings are made of horsehair and "gut" ( like a sinew) An American, I grew up there, my Dad's a petrochemical engineer, I'm not some "know it all" like I see here all the time ha ! 👋🤣 My sister and several friends went to uni with him, our parents are friends. Thanks Elisabeth ❤️

Glad you found Dimash, he is unique. I would like to ask you to review a Thai street busker, who's first name is Fiat, known as Queen on street. She is 14 now, but recorded her first original song, in Sweden, when she was only 13. She was invited to sing in a youth concert raising funds for Ukraine, and sang in Sweden, Paris, and London. You can find her song on RUclips, called, U can have it all. As far as I can see, nobody else has reviewd this . I think it is very good, and should be heard all over the place, even commercial radio. She also busks in Phuket abd Bankok, with a band of kids called queen on street band. She is singer and guitar aged 14. Bassist is 13, drummer 13 and keyboard only 10!. They are fun to watch. Cheers, Andy , Inverness, UK.

It's hard to go wrong with Dimash. I'm a sucker for piano, a good voice, especially base/baritone and awesome lyrics. (A good blues guitar can't be beat either)
Dimash gives all 3 in varying degrees

Looking forward to hearing the song you and your son wrote for Dimash! You mentioned the blues at the end of your reaction and that reminded me that Dimash just sang a new song at his recent concert that is a blues style song. It's called "When I've Got You". There are only fan cam versions right now, but some are quite good and have subtitles so look around a bit. This is the first time that I know of that Dimash has done this genre. 🇨🇦

    Mixed voice: D5-C6

Jim, as you're dissecting the scales in this song you might like to react to a young Russian singer called Diana Ankudinova, performing a version of the Elvis song "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" in an unfamiliar key setting. The performance is fairly short and most of the back half is the judges making suitable comments. Apart from the fact she has a remarkable voice it's an example of how even slightly tweaking the notes can change the feel of a song.. ruclips.net/video/M-znD6QKbrg/видео.html
