I’m from Philly and I recognize black thought as a lyrical monster and this freestyle is incredible, but to say no one can match what he wrote is a little too much for me. There are many verses I can think of that blew that one out of the water, but that doesn’t take away from what he did, and I give a lot of props and love to him. Eminem is superior, technically to him.

Even on songs where it sounds like he’s just rapping fast and not seeing anything, he puts things together that my ears have never heard. I love black thought, and I am from Philly, but when people leave a comment and say that it is impossible to write anything better than he wrote, and there is nothing that can match this verse I have to disagree. I've always been aware of the Roots music and would listen from time to time, then I started checking out Thought's solo projects and I truly believe the dude is absolutely top 5 greatest of all time, and just above my man Meth. Thought's rhyme schemes are extremely complex, his ability to string together layers of compound syllables and double entendres is incredible and unlike most of I've ever heard. Dude is sadly underrated and deserves much more credit....just my two cents.
