We have been going to the Kern River and Lake Isabella area for a long time now, it's the gateway to the southern sierra's! While we were in Kernville for Whiskey Flat Days we decided to share our knowledge of the area and take you on a tour. This area is an outdoor paradise with year-round activities. People especially love to float the Kern River.
Whiskey Flat Days is one of the most popular festivals in Southern California. This festival takes place in Kernville (Formerly Whiskey Flats), Where the town is taken over with vendors, carnival, rodeo, a parade and even a wild west encampment. Yup. I camp at the upper kern during the spring and fall seasons. I'm actually currently working in Kerrville, ca and never knew they did this until this year...BUT... I had to work. So, maybe next year I'll get 2 check it out.

That is a really neat place to maybe hang out for a while. I love that you showed so many parts of this place. When VANS stopped making checkerboard shoes, they shipped al the ones they had left to Bakersfield. So, when I was about 3 hours away, I drove there and bought all 8 pairS they had in my size. One year they started making them again. (facepalm here) I've heard of this place before, but just like Melissa, I thought it was just vendors only as well. Great info.

Kernville? Kern County? I started my music career in Bakersfield Ca. Which is Kern county.. We have a town in Tx called Whiskey Flats, not much there but 3 liquor stores and 3 strip clubs😂🤣 (not where the music is) 😂🤣..hugs🤗💓

I CAMP AT FRANDYS EVERY YEAR ON SPRING TIME ALL.THE WAY TO.WINTER TIME ITS A VERY FUN PLACE TO CAMP AND TO GO FISHING THERES A GREAT PARK CALLED RIVERSIDE PARK WHERE YOU CAN BBQ FOR THE DAY AND FISH AT THE SAME TIME .

There is a place called Keysville. Or you can go on the west side of Lake issabella, there are a good amount of trails in the area. Thanks for watching!
For years my family has been there. My uncle and grandpa live there did you know there is a city underwater. that Lake. I am moving There soon. I grow up in the Desert and City

For lake Isabella
I don't think any. Last time we were there there was no one at the gate. But we had our national park pass, it may have changed though.
Last time I was there the river wasn't there it was all dried up. Not one drop.
