Lawsuit Sends Shockwaves Through Small NZ Town

"Stunning New Zealand West Coast Town Faced David vs. Goliath Battle: Blackball Hilton Pub Threatened by Hotel Giant! The quaint town on New Zealand's South Island was under fire as the former owners of Blackball Hilton face an outrageous demand from the mighty Hilton Hotel chain. Threaten to be hit with a lawsuit from the Huge Hilton Hotel chain, they were demanding that the Blackball Hilton revoke its name as the Hilton and change it to something else otherwise they would threaten them with quite a large law suit.

Stayed there in the 1970s. My father was doing a historic survey for the govt…rained and rained ,but it hadn’t changed much from the 1920s. Same with the people………. always remember when he splashed out and took us out to the local pub for a meal…. always a family joke that Burt and Mavis ran these joints.blowed us right down then Burt told Mavis our order….laughs for years…..

I remember visiting here with my Great Aunt and Grandmother in the summer of 98, I was 10yo. We spent NYE here and I was the only brown person in the town that night, it was rather quaint.
