RIP Keith. Today a huge part of my childhood died. I was 9 in 94, and I was with my mom in a store and I saw a starnge looking album cover, I asked mom to buy for me and she did, it was Music for the Jilted Generation . Put the casette tape and pressed Play and eveything changed. That year was also the year my father left us, mom was working 12 hours shifts and I was home alone most of the time listeing to music and especially to Prodigy. I remember that while listening to Prodigy and dacing arround the house, those problems were not so bad, I was feeling that it will get better at one point. Thank you Keith for being there for me,
Is an energetic, hard-hitting song that talks about the pressures of life, both internal and external. The chorus encourages listeners to take a deep breath and focus on their breathing to get a reprieve from these pressures, while the verses call out the various sources of stress and anxiety that all of us face. The song can be seen as a call to resilience and inner strength, to develop the courage to face all that life throws at us.
This song and clip was everything in '98-'99. I remember i had 90 mins cassette, was recorded this song over and over again after each other, actually was not full version, i saved from a radio station's show. Old days when you could not get everything immediately you were starving for every bit of information about your bands and music. It was in Hungary btw.
I remember those days... The rock bars would stop the music, whatever was playing at that time, and was turning the sound on when this song came on in MTV with everyone in the bar watching with their mouths wide open... It had such an impact on the whole world. Thank you THE PRODIGY ! Thank YOU KEEF!
I wish i lived in that era. Hearing stories from my dad that are similar to this, living in the 90's would've been rreally cool. Today you can get information instantly and it spreads fast! I'm not complaining though.
I think he means the fact that while Prodigy is kind of psychotic it still is same time very down to earth if you compare it to most electronic music bands. It is weird.
