yah know, i was wondering about that? im just getting into soldering, simple things. but how does that not effect the other electronics? The colateral chips are still being soaked. I realize this isnt ideal, but it wont short the other chips?
@jessepadova4472 some components must not be soaked in flux ex: a microscope, a proximity sensor, or a camera and many other components. when flux gets inside, it can be hard to clean without leaving a trace, but for most smd components its fine, as you can see that the component is soaked in flux which mean it is not getting hit directly by the hot air, you have a layer of protection, but dont rely on it, just be careful when soldering, i will start uploading long form content soon so you will be able to see more soldering work, please keep in mind that my methods are not 100% correct, i just try to get things done, you can have your own style of work which will fix things but still anyone can tell you that you are wrong, good luck, if you have any requests please feel free to ask 🌹
Water on its own wont damage your elexteonics, its the minerals in the water. With that being said, this is solder, flux, and rubbing alcohol. All ok to use on electronics.

@@IC1B4Uthis is not a tool that you can buy, i had a small electric vape, i destroyed it in order to remove that ring, i added capton tape on top and cut it in a circular shape 👌👌👌
I see a lot of comments asking why the other components aren't blowing around or moving from the hot air. The reason is that the tip of the hot air station blows a very direct stream at the component it is being pointed at. When he heats up the component, the bulk of the heat is being absorbed by the component, solder, and the board directly under it. He is only heating it just enough to melt the solder in that location and immediately pulls it before the solder on neighboring components are able to reach melting temperature. Assuming the solder is stock, its most likely leadless solder that melts at around 217°C. Many people like myself, use leaded solder that melts at around 183°C when doing personal repairs as it's easier to work with and creates a stronger joint. Leaded solder is banned in industrial settings in the USA/EU at least, so it's a safe assumption that most consumer electronics are using lead-free solder. Lastly, the solder paste he is using looks like 138 solder paste (which is a combination of solder/flux), which like its knickname, melts at a very low 138°C. The main use of this is to mix it with soldered components to lower the melting temperature so the component is easier to remove. I would never use it to solder components to the board like in this video, but I doubt this component will ever reach the melting temperature. You certainly wouldn't use this stuff to reball a CPU or any other component that gets hot.
Well that was definitely interesting I was hoping something would be mentioned about the capacitor cover cap. That I have not seen yet! Definitely have to remember that for the next project I work on.
