"Broken legs but I chase perfection" truer words have never been spoken. No matter how beaten down and hurt by life I am I still try my best to be the best.
We all be our own mansion's that we're trapped in. For some it's easier to let out our hurt but for others it's nearly impossible to open up. I have my moments where my emotions flow freely and other times where I feel like a burden so I keep it all inside.
I have no problem helping others out and listening to their pain, but I bury mine and lose the key to open up my own doors. It's something I'm trying hard not to do and I'm getting better at sharing my own own devastation. Physical and sexual abuse is scary to open up about because people use it against you and it'll make you double padlock your doors and sit a pitbull in front of it so no one can gather the information that truly makes you vulnerable 😢
But you, you're a light in a world of darkness. Don't ever change!
I have those same difficulties. But, like you, I’m working on it. I honestly don’t like boxing things up. Lol But it is what I have always done. We can get out of this mansion.
I’m 57 years old, the physical and mental abuse I went thru as a young child was harsh. I’ve never gotten over it! I was beaten with 3 grommet wide belts, measuring yard sticks by the 10’s of dozens. Made to bite on bar soap, kneeled in the corner of two walls, all day long, to the point at my Knees were bruised and bleeding! I’ve tried to forgive my Mom. She won’t accept any responsibility for what she did to me! NF and this song “Mansion” speaks to my soul! I’ve built the mental walls (rooms), some of which, no one gets to enter! I throw up mental “ walls” ( rooms) to protect myself from that! When the people that are supposed to love you (your parents), are the monsters, how do you recover from that? NF put a lyric to my never ending pain!
This right here. This is why we need artists like NF
I definitely can relate and him putting it into song along with other tracks of his likely saved my life...❤to all still in it.

I think there are a lot of us who can relate to this song as much as you did. So, you are not alone on that. I remember the first time that I heard this song, I couldn't stop crying.
At one point in your NF journey, I would love to see your reaction to one of his latest songs “Running” from the album “Hope”. Hopefully, that reaction will come once you hear all the other songs on the journey.

I just got into NF's music this year and according to Spotify, I've listened to him more than anyone in 2023. Loving his music. My most listened to song this year is "If You Want Love" by him. My personal favorite. Mansion is definitely top 3 for me also. Hope you're having a great week.

Hi RHN.....The way NF's albums and songs are structured it is best to work through them in the order they come out to fully understand his journey right up to the Hope Album......but in saying that it is your channel so do as you wish.

You try to build a wall right infront of us, so that you can feel safe. But it's hard to hide a heart that speaks so much even without words. We notice you, I see you act, try to keep your doors lock, hide behind that beautiful smile but it's hard for us your fans not to feel the warm heart of yours. Sadly Nate's trauma's reflect my own completely, it makes it hard to listen to his music sometimes... I dealt with abuse as a child, my mom was an alcoholic and an addict, she overdosed in her moldy appartment, I had to see her slowly kill herself throughout my entire childhood,.... ya know.... the usual I suppose.
That’s not ok, but it happens regularly. My dad was an a depressed alcoholic. That brings layers of things to deal with or “ rooms” and that led to situations as an adult. I know what you mean about having a hard time listening sometimes. It’s almost shocking how he nails the description.
