- 🦁I Hope So is a webcomic that follows the story of three lionesses who fight against the dangers of nature, and learn the value of found family. It is inspired by the independent animated series, My Pride, but is in no way affiliated with it. It is but a different take on the same concept. The story also lends themes from animal classics such as Watership Down by Richard Adams and The Animals of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann.

100% agree on that. It’s very well done and very interesting. I’m lovin it. I’ve kinda given up on My Pride now. I guess I just kinda lost interest. This is so cute and heartwarming but also giving a taste on reality on how cruel people can be. Just a cute adorable friendship between two lions. So excited for next episode 😁

this is giving me so many Disney vibes, not just the Lion King vibe, because they're lions but also the fight between the two moms, but the fox and the hound, when the two subs sneak off to play like Todd and Copper did.
I love how the comic showed the cubs having spots but the grown lions don’t. Cubs naturally are born with spots but lose them after a few months to a year old, if I’m not mistaken. And in the next episode, the young lion that befriends Hope, they’re seen as masculine presenting, but identify as female. I hope I’m not getting the wrong idea 😅 But the thing is, there are actual lionesses with manes. They’re intersex. They’re born with female genitalia but have the ability to produce testosterone. Kevin Richardson has a lioness, I believe her name is Amy, who has a small mane, but is born with female genitalia. I’m guessing the lion/lioness that met Hope is supposed to be representation for trans women/intersex people. I’m not sure 🤷 It’s just something I caught onto and thought it was really cool, so I thought that was the representation that was intended.

I wasn’t sure if she was just a manes lioness or trans because there’s not a lot of outward trans representation, even in My Pride which is what this is supposed to fix, and the character that’s supposed to be trans is never known to be unless you look at the character wiki. That was one of the things they complained about in the analysis so I wondered if that was their way to take an opportunity and give trans women representation. My bad lol 😅
I always thought maybe she was a maned lioness, they are rare but they do exist

@@abbij2009 Moonstrike. She’s the grayish lioness with slight mane fluff. She’s a trans girl. She’s in the 9th and 10th episode I believe. There was a section in an analysis video done by “ Detective Calico” where the LGBT+ representation was discussed and it talks about Moonstrikes character and how she’s really not good of representation for trans women. They also touch upon the fact that you would’ve had no goddamn clue Moonstrike was trans unless you had seen it on the Wiki or someone had told you. It’s on “ Detective Calico” ‘s channel if you wanna know more.
Jasper was the one who made Vicious hate Hope I feel looking back on the earlier chapters. She actually was very protective of her before her second litter
Aaaaah! I’ve always wanted to see a comic dub of this series! You all did amazing and I hope to see more in the future! I especially like the effects added in.
One criticism I have however is to make pauses for certain visuals, and it may be more trouble in editing but maybe add more sound effects for some panels?
Like when Young Hope was walking when her missing leg was revealed for the first time, it could have been nice to have a walking sound effect or a zoom in on the walking panels to emphasize it some more.
But ignoring all that, the voice acting was NICE
Thanks so much for your constructive feedback! 🤩 I can say for Episode 2, there are a load more sound effects, some I actually compiled myself which is super exciting! I’ve done the visual editing a bit differently too, I hope it’s another step up! 💖

Loving this so far. I just feel like Viscous's VA is a little loud. I kind of imagined her with a quieter voice with less of an angry tone and more of a disappointed one.

This is great! But… it’s A LOT alike my pride like… the main lion has a bad leg (they even have a mean mother!) and meets a lion without a pride… that cub she meets even has the same colours as hover! It’s still good just… a lot of similarities
It was actually originally based off of my pride but eventaully became its own story! It goes on a different path than my pride

This is so interesting, but every time I read a chapter the similarities to My Pride just become too much and I just can't continue it. But I did really enjoy the voice acting that was done for this.
Hopefully this series will be able to continue. I’m just worried that sense this started as a My Pride fan fiction that later down the road there maybe copyright issues stalling the series or causing it to cancel.
I mean, given how MP cant even pick up it's second season, im sure this is safe from suing

This is excellent! Though my one critique about the voice acting is it sounds a bit too... exaggerated at times? Like the expressions don't quite match the level of aggression in the voice? I imagined Vicious sounding less like a stereotypical villain and more calm and motherly. But that's the cool part about perspective I guess :D
