Blake Griffin No it didn’t work because the video doesn’t tell you that you need to desolder the sleep/wake sensor and solder it on the new screen or else the iPad will think that a cover is blocking the screen and won’t turn on with the power button only if you hold the power button
I bought the same heat gun as describe in the video but I don't manage to separate the screen from the rest of the ipad. Maybe I don't wait anough or I don't place the heat gun in the best position. Do you have any advice ?

I've done just this, when I go to close and seal the screen down to the ipad, I lose picture. The power button won't turn on the LCD, you can see it flicker like it's trying but can't. But soon as I pick it up a little off the frame (almost like bending the LCD flex cable less) it will come on. What is the problem?
It sounds like you're having a faulty connection. We recommend double checking your connections and the board that these connections are seated to. In regards to your power button not working, there is about 7 soldering points next to the home button flex. You need to de-solder the original flex soldered to this connection.
So it does have to be the original wake/sleep sensor from the original iPad? A new part with that piece pre-soldered won't work?
when you crack your new ipad mini 4 after you got it 2 days ago... I don't even know how it happened. didn't drop it or anything. this screen mist have very little durability.
MerchMaster mine was so bullshit. It cracked after i got home to school. It had really thick cover and was always hidden in my binder. I got home took it out of my binder and opened the case and it was cracked. 5 minutes before i was playing it on bus on my way home to school. For some reason ot jst cracked in my binder with the cover on.
How ive dropped mine so many times on the ground without it even showing a mark i even dropped mine from the second floor onto the first floor and it survived i broke mine when i hit something onto my bed and accidentally hit my ipad
My son’s has been dropped on pavement, hard floors, thrown by his little brother etc. and held up great. Dropped it on carpet once and the screen completely shattered.
I have a crappy case and my iPad mini 4 has stranded hundreds of fatal drops while my old iPad mini 1 was ruined by 1 drop and the screen shattered
My older brother gave me his iPad 4 mini with the corner shattered. I didn’t mind too much but one day while it was on my bed it just shattered completely near the home button for absolutely no reason.
Did you use the original Touch ID sensor/ home button for the replacement screen?
Yes. That i the only way to keep touch id working.
@Chris Fronius Will the touch ID not work after the replacement if you don't solder the 6 pin connections?

My screen lock does work after I replaced the screen, It can turn off the device but it cant lock the screen anymore, Can anyone tell me how to fix it?
It's most likely due to the smart cover settings, and possibly not having the magnets in it,
go to Settings > General and turn "iPad Cover Lock/Unlock" off

It’s not. iPad mini 4 lcd replacements have to be soldered the IC in order for the lock to work

Yes a hair dryer will work as well.
Repairs Universe I found a replacement digitizer glass only on Amazon. It's the only one while all others are glass+ LCD. Big difference in price. What should I do?
sherif mohsen get the combo. Most likely you would damage the lcd trying to remove the digitizer

Soldering is not required for this repair.
