I'll be your annoying old Ninjago fan today! :) I recently rewatched new seasons of Ninjago (11-16) and it brought my love back, but something is missing... Why did they need to downgrade characters' mentality so much? Ninjas had a whole character development from pilot series till 7th season. Now Kai and Jay is comedy relief for kids. Lloyd is too overrated because they gave him a lot of trauma (which he obliviously didn't deserve). Cole and Zane are not important most of the screentime. Why did they bring Garmadon back on screen as the main villain? Didn't this mf had a whole ass redemption arc from 3th to 5the season? Of course I was so glad they finally gave Cole and Nya their own seasons. And what was next? They're already forgotten in the next episodes... Anyway... I'm back with the edit as a discussion. What do you think would happen if Kai didn't save Lloyd (or was too late) in s1 ep10? Maybe, if isn't Kai and his true potential no one would ever knew Lloyd is the Green Ninja. It was one of the biggest plot twists at that time years ago.
Idk why, but I kinda have the feeling that since The Lego Ninjago Movie came out, the show changed a lot (not only the character design and everything) but also the way of telling the story and mostly the story itself, they're kinda overdoing the "basic storyline" of season 1/2 like the ninja have to fight against Garmadon and then there‘s Lloyd, who is his son and all this stuff ykkk
I totally agree. And I only knew about/ started watching ninjago in late 2016, I watched it all out of order too, and something about it just had this vibe I don't really know how to explain. It became a comfort show for me very quickly. And then the movie can out and I enjoyed it for what it was but then they changed so much in the new seasons. I could handle seasons 8 and 9, but season 10 and onwards it just for progressively worse. The writing is also a nightmare. I watched dotd and hands of time and I remember talking to people about how bad the character writing was in those seasons before I knew about the change in writers. But even those were better than the 10 Min eps now Aghh I only download eps that have greenflame moments so I can use for editing lmaooo
If Kai never saved Lloyd then meaning there is no green ninja so if I assume of it there shall be another chosen one to be the green ninja but the thing that Kai saved him still is just amazing it’s actually something I like to see because Kai had a decision to think of it he wanted his full potential but he didn’t know that it was protecting the green ninja and the others ninjas destiny was different because as said there is a reason why Kai had to save Lloyd to get his full potential because Kai is one of the four protectors once destined to. Protect the golden weapons and the green ninja so that’s the explanation of the thing to get kai his full potential
Another huge butterfly affect in ninjago is wu losing his Katan over the monastery wall when he was a kid It is the reason most things happen/ didn’t happen and huge things to

Still blaming that damn movie for all that.
