Good luck growing the channel. The video was interesting
Thanks!
Wow beautiful build great job looks like it flying amazing 👍 nice front flips also love the fence jumping
Thanks! Be sure to check out the link at the end to the video for the giveaway. Just put a comment in that video to be entered if you want the car in it :-) also a sub is appreciated!
Those 4092s are crazy torque. My only gripe is they get extremely hot without fans
Yeah it wasn't too bad in this application but the Sledge is still comparatively light. I do love these motors though. Make sure you go to the video and the link and put a comment in there if you want to enter the giveaway :-)
Lol. Full pull.. whoops theres a tire lmao
Yeah it didn't last long. Be sure to check out the link and put a comment in that other video if you want to enter the giveaway :-) if you aren't already subscribed a sub is appreciated!
Would be cooler if the mount included a cradle and subframe brace for support to minimize flex. It could all be built into one piece...
Yeah that would be sweet though it would definitely increase cost pretty significantly since it would be milled from a much larger chunk of aluminum.
@@DoRC I was able to modify the stock engine cradle to assist in mitigating the flex on a hard drop. The GPM battery box kit comes with a small sub frame brace that actually makes a difference that I don't really see mentioned anywhere. I'm surprised no one has made one for the other side of the body. First thing you do to a unibody muscle car is add subframe connectors to tie the front and back together. Funny getting into the RC hobby and seeing what has been made for these little cars. It seems like the sledge could benefit from something that will reduce flex. You see thicker bottom chassis but no one machines a honeycomb or structural support into these new pieces. Such as rails along the sides. There is definitely plenty of room. 🤔
@@kmass77m2c makes one for reverse mount
@@kmass77 you say you use the sub frame of the GPM battery tray for supporting the end of the motor ? I have the battery tray, I took it out but left the servo mount on the truck
I’ve installed the same setup but I run into a issue. How did you locked in your wirings to the receiver box? I’ve got like 5 wirings and this kind of plastic nub isn’t possible to press in because all of those wirings.
Did you cut a slit in the middle of the grommet? I cut a slit in mine and then passed all the wires through it. That being said I didn't have five so you might need to cut a cross in it instead of just a single slit to get them all through. Not entirely sure if that will be enough either though. Definitely let me know how it goes!
Sweet upgrade finally not shredding pinions every run
I have yet to hurt the stock pinion or spur gear on mine. Don't forget to follow the link to the giveaway and put a comment in that video if you haven't already and are interested :-)
Honestly, I love Arthur's work...Vitavon parts are outstanding, and among the best available. However, for my Sledge, I'm going with a combination of BasherQueen & M2C upgrades...and, for the electronics, a Castle Mamba Monster 2 w/1515-2200Kv combo.
As for the 8S "experiment", yeah, WAY too much power. Kinda reminds me of a similar experiment of mine a few years ago, involving a Rustler 4x4, 4200kv motor on 3S, and some incredible...but devastating...aerial acrobatics.
Yeah just too much jam. Thanks for watching and if you want to enter the giveaway be sure to watch the video I link to and put a comment in there :-)
@@DoRC Had already watched it (when it was posted), and commented. That tiny thing is cool...made the X-MAXX look like a Godzilla-sized monster truck...lol
@@robbryan3044 nice! I'll be doing the drawing soon :-)
8s is just crazy power 🤣🤣🤣
Yes it is. Too much for me in this instance. Be sure to be subscribed and put a comment in the video I linked to enter the giveaway :-)
Some monstrous jumps and bumps even into your neighbours garden too
Can’t imagine how that may have looked if they had seen this beast coming in hard to their grass🤯🤣🤣🤣😳
Nice of you to share Do’😎👌🏿🫡🍺

@@DoRC already sub’D Tyson💯😎
I comment. The sledge is something trx should have done a long time ago
Agreed. Although brand new platforms do take a long time to develop :-)
Do you recommend the sledge for a first rc car. I am new to the hobby. Over the road truck driver looking for something to drive around while on my breaks.
Hmm. It's definitely not a bad choice but it's a lot of money and a lot of car for a first. Maybe consider a 3s Arrma. Smaller, lighter cheaper and still a lot of fun!
Don't forget to check out the giveaway I'm doing in that video and a sub is appreciated:)
Sorry to be a pain, can you post links for motor Mount and motor? I really want to do this to my sledge 😉👍🏽💯Thanks again brother
Best thing to do is to just go on eBay and search for the Sledge vitavon chassis and motor mount. The reason I don't post links is because they change on eBay pretty frequently and I don't want people thinking I'm getting some kickback from making these videos
@@DoRC oh ok no worries thanks brother
Can you send a link for the mount , motor and esc? Thanks. She’s a BEAST!!
The mount is vitavon and is available on eBay. The motor is a surpass rocket. There are a bunch of different options on Amazon for them. They're pretty good motors. ESC is just a max 6. You can get them pretty much anywhere That hobby stuff is sold.
Thanks for watching and if you enjoy my videos a sub is appreciated :-)
6s will do that all fine with less weight 😎
You're correct and I said as much in the video :-) esc motor are great but as was just too much. Don't forget to check out the video I linked and drop a comment in that if you want to chance to win the fpv RC car!

Just thought of something - the Sledge (which I finally purchased a couple days ago...considering I've had all the upgrades for months) NEEDS a wheelie bar. I know Traxxas makes one (TRA9576)...but, are there currently any 3rd-party options, and any that might be 'better' than the Traxxas offering?
Not aware of any aftermarket options but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I would suggest checking ebay.
@@DoRC I did check...and, I found two 3rd-party options. One is Aluminum, and bolts (using 4 longer screws) to the bottom of the chassis. Unfortunately, it's only 6061, plus it does below the chassis. The other is some strange design that uses springs, but also uses zip-ties to 'hold' the upper piece against the wrong mount. Think I'll just get the Traxxas unit. If it's 75% as good as the wheels bar on the X-MAXX, if should be more than "good enough". Just thought a 3rd-party option would be worth checking into...and, so far, turns out it isn't.
@@robbryan3044 yeah I would just go traxxas. I'm sure it's just fine. I've never really had an issue with any Traxxas wheelie bar
Wow loads of power
Too much on 8s. Definitely fun though:)
Do you know if the 1717 will fit this mount?
Yes I believe it will
Question, how do you mount your esc on this new setup?
The receiver lid has holes to mount the stock ESC. Aftermarket ESCs can either be mounted using an adapter for those holes if you have the ability to 3D print or you could just double side tape them to the lid. As long as they are done properly 3M VHB works very well for that sort of thing. Thanks for watching and if you enjoy my videos a sub to my channel is appreciated!
I see,
How did you mount it?
@@taxpayertroy 3M VHB double-sided tape. If installed correctly on clean surfaces it's very reliable. Not my favorite thing to do but it does work
Sweet
Heck yeah that's an awesome little car. Be sure to make a comment in that video to be entered:)
hey friend , what batterys are you running ?
I've got a bunch of different batteries but I always recommend SMC.

Dude i dont know why my max6 is over heating on 6s, oveheats with the stock sledge motor and it over heats with my spektrum 1800kv 6s motor. 5 blinking green lights\ capacitors are over heating.. and im not even running it tgat hard at all..batterys were so hot the kinda stuck together, not melted together, just had to pull them apart.I have a rocket 4092 1650kv on the way now , if it over heats with that one then i guess rhe esc is screwed
If your batteries are getting that hot then the batteries are the problem. They should get mildly warm at worst and if they're getting hot that means they're getting overloaded. Battery issues like that can absolutely cause your ESC to overheat. I would strongly recommend replacing them as they are likely a fire hazard at this point.
@@DoRC it's done it with 2 different Traxxas 5000 sets as well as a set of sokokin battery's.. do you think it could be the plugs that are solder on it ? Cuz the dude at my hobby shop isn't very good at it and I literally had to take it to the house and do it myself and I don't have the right set up for it, I mean I can do ec5 batteries fairly easy or xt90s but Traxxas connectors are hard to do when you don't have the right stuff to hold the cable and the connector
@@DoRC now that I think about it .I don't remember it over heating until I broke a ec5 and switched to Traxxas connectors
@@DoRC but the Traxxas motor over heated as well but this truck is heavy with all the GPM upgrades including 4mm chassis
@macmccartney5760 It's entirely possible. If there's high resistance in the battery connectors it can cause a lot of extra strain on everything. That being said neither Traxxas nor sokocin batteries are great at handling really high loads so you still could be looking at a battery issue. I would recommend getting the connectors properly installed first and then go from there.
Nice....
Yeah definitely good on 6s. Don't forget to follow the link to the video if you want to enter the giveaway! And if you aren't subscribed a sub is appreciated :-)

The parts look nice, shame you have to spend nearly the same amount in aftermarket parts to actually make the car any amount of durable.
Have you ordered the Hyper MTX? Literally no videos on it yet apart from Stephane Z, Looks a beast.
It'll be here Tuesday!
Last question, make and model of motor please?
Rocket 4092
Thx bro
You're welcome :-)
what better that motor or the 2250kv?
If you mean the G2 2250 KV from hobbywing I'd say it's better.
