Just purchased a Proteus this afternoon. Can't wait to try it out on my short hikes. Maxpedition makes great gear. I use a Maxpedition Mongo every day. I'm very pleased with it. Thank you for the excellent review!
Thanks, Stephen. Your review of these bags and the beautiful park area really make me wish I was half my current age and still hiking the back country! Very nice, very enjoyable. Thank you.
Clearly if you are bored on a Sunday morning, you don´t have to make any expedition anywhere, just fiddling with the bag will keep you busy for the rest of the day.
I've owned the smaller one for a while now. I use it to hold my pens and paper when I go birding. It's super tough and will probably last a hundred years. When I need something, I need it fast like a pen, camera or mace...birding can be a challenging activity with probable injury, sprinting and other emergency situations. Its always important to be more mobile and free to move than your partner (i.e. bear chase). These Maxpedition bags are outstanding and worth the investment.
Stephen, how nice it is to see you "outside"👍 Interesting product with great functionality and interesting options (or "add on's") thanks for sharing this with us👍👍
Excellent review, Stephen! Nice to see you branching out a bit from pens, and enjoying the Canadian outdoors. I've had a Proteus for the past seven years, and use it to house a compact first aid kit. There is a lot of room for field dressings, band aids, trauma shears, etc. It's nice to have the waist belt option, but I typically leave it stowed away and just grab the top handles.
I like that you did a video on something else that interests you. You need to be allowed to grow as a channel. I hope people will be understanding that there is more than fountain pens and support it you continue doing some "other" type of product reviews. Good job on this video.
I was kinda under the impression that if you were exposed to daylight you'd burst into flames. 🧛♂️ Also, I've heard that bears like trail mix for an appetizer before the main course.
i like their bags - i have all their old school bags - their only problem is that they are usually to busy so on many i stream line them - i tuck this and hide or remove that - on the proteus - the way over sized handle had to go - you would be surprised just how much more functional the bag has become - one of my best small packs
I dislike that, every time one wishes to get into the main or front compartment for anything (such as to quickly get something by turning the fannypack around to the front), the dual clip handle must be opened and then closed.
Excellent video!! I enjoyed the visit to Alberta.. much more lush than Colorado.. I like that.. nice pack as well.. I won't let Shelly see this though.. she has a thing about needing gear, even if only to be used one per year! Really fun and different presentation.. thank you for innovating yet again.. Best! Frank from Boulder, Colorado
Maxpedition makes totally awesome gear. I’ve used and abused one of their “Fatboy” shoulder bags (your bag’s big brother) for nearly ten years and it looks and functions like new. Literally. On a five star rating system I give them 7 stars. The extra stars are for going above and beyond even the maker’s claims and for being excellent at meeting needs I never knew I had. How’s that?
I have the Falcon II, Sitka, and FatBoy Type S. The FatBoy is probably the closest to this but it is cross body carry only (left side only). I really like their bags. Mine are several years old and still look new.
Ever thought about a survival pistol to throw in there? They make a 2 shot 22cal pistol the size of a credit card that folds up, youd love it. I know people in our community frown upon firearms but they're a necessity when you dont live in the city. Plus I think Canada has decent gun laws
I purchased mine several years ago and it has no loops for a shoulder strap. The first thing I thought when I received it was...I wish I could add a shoulder strap. That said it is really comfortable with just a belt strap. Load it up and it disappears.
You just reviewed a fanny pack. Wat. Gonna get into some tactical outdoor pens? I'm a paramedic, used a delike alpha to pop a car window on a heavy rescue once. Pen saved a person's life. That bag is nowhere near big enough for my jump kit. If I'm hiking, I'll stick with an rei flash 15 backpack. It's much lighter, cheaper and more compact with a larger capacity, and when I'm doing some serious hiking, I do not want that weight on my hips
I wonder why they named it after a pathogenic bacteria... More likely, something used on a journey. Thanks for taking the time. Were you able to get a coupon code allowing us, your loyal followers, to get a discount as well?
That’s all well and nice, but can it be converted to an eyedropper?

But what are the nib options?

I love pens and love Maxpedition. What a pleasant surprise to see you do a Macpedition review! I use my Janus as a Pencil Case at times.
Thank you Stephen. How many fountain pens does it carry?

I love your fountain pen reviews and now that I see this review, I could see you reviewing more stuff in an entertaining way (maybe try more?) :)
Outstanding review I definitely think you should consider making more videos like this
Do you prefer it posted or not posted?

I purchased one just now. You convinced me!!

Lots of options with this bag. Plus the scenery is beautiful.
Maxpedition gear rocks - I own several of their bags in various sizes for various uses. Extremely tough and well made.

Approximately how many bottles of ink does it hold?

thank's for the présentation. i took one with your help.
Where in Alberta? Canmore has a great French Cafe with excellent lattes, mochas, and tartines. Worth the trip.

Does it write smooth?

Ha ha ha 😀☺️ tactical lip balm! I loved this video, thank you. I'm going to buy one.
Great review 👏 👌 👍
Nice review, but the bag Is way too small for me. Thank you, Steve!
You just reviewed a fanny pack. Wat.
Gonna get into some tactical outdoor pens?

I thought the PALS/Molle would have been on the back to attach the pack to a larger bag
Hello Sir. Can it wear cross body like a sling bag? Thank you
Ahh I live in Alberta! So weird that you are here
Great review!
Review my memoir, you tall, well spoken, goof ball!

Thanks for taking the time.
Were you able to get a coupon code allowing us, your loyal followers, to get a discount as well?
No
Does it come with a converter or is that purchased seperately?
more gear reviews please! 🙂
More to come!
Simarjeet Sahni -- I agree!
@@sbrebrown -- hooray and please continue to utilize the outdoor backdrop for your videos from time to time!
Mr. Brown, what kind of Chronograph is on your wrist?
It is a Seiko Sportura
Great video. 2 questions. Brand of the brown/tan coat in beginning of video and what type of watch are you wearing?
Eddie Bauer and Seiko Sportura
It is beautiful little bag, but is useless. It is too small for bag and too big for purse.
