    Thank you. I bought several silk shirts from H and M in large and the medium would have been a better fit! Gonna try this on one of them and see how I go. Thanks!

      You are so welcome Jackie! It is not necessary if the shirt/blouse is one or two sizes larger, depending on the fit/shape. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

    Looks so easy when you do it! Bought a shirt I love but the only size they had left was a little big.. I was looking for a solution for it and came across this video which is perfect for beginners thank you! Can't wait to try it out!

    Thank you! I often buy from a particular retailer that carries colors and prints I like, but find that all of their tops are shapeless! On my body, they fall like a sack from the shoulders down. I can easily take 3 or 4 inches on either side of my waist. The sleeves are also too "balloony" for my taste. I will be trying your method because you explained it well and it looks doable for a beginner sewer.

    This is very helpful and easy to follow. Thank You. I’m a beginner to sewing, can the same method be used for a medium thickness sweater?

    Would you make the other side smaller as well so they are matching on each side?

    That was nice and I'll try it. But really would have liked to see the shirt on, both before and after sewing. And turned right side out to see how the seams look especially. under the arms.

    How about the shoulders? It wasn't reduced.

      In some cases it doesn't have to be, it all depends on ones body shape and the style of the shirt.

      I used the regular presser foot but, you can also use a zipper foot if your are struggling. Thank you for commenting ameena uchi.

    how about the shoulder?

    • @colleenglea
      @colleenglea  Год назад +1

      It is possible! It's just a case of removing the sleeves and reshaping the armhole and then re-inserting the sleeve.
