Let's learn how to count with different time signatures. In this video we are explaining different rhythm patterns in each time signatures and shows how to count with each of them. Here we are explaining 4/4, 2/4, 3/4, 6/8, 5/8, 6/4 rhythm patterns with some songs which is composed in each time signatures. There are many other time signatures. For example, 12/8 is a widely used time signature in flamenco music.

What exactly are these numbers?
(Watch episode 5 first)
3/4 = 3 crochets in a bar (crochet is 1/4 th of a whole note)
5/8 = 5 quavers in a bar (quaver is 1/8 th of a whole note)
2/2 = 2 minims in a bar (minim is 1/2 of a whole note)

10:20 'Aayiram kannumai' time signature Googlil search cheythappool 9/8 time signature ennaanu kaanikkunnathu. Is it an error from google or is it because 6/4 and 9/8 time signatures are the same ? Also 'Kanneer Poovinte' is shown as having 5/4 in google, why does this happen ?

It’s only the difference on number of keys. Nothing else. But it’s okay you can begin with 37 and later u can change to 61. Thanks.
