I’m back with another fun fact lol: Tyler showed Kendrick some of the stuff he had for Igor before it came out and Kendrick told him he loved his singing because it was “perfect”, but it was “emotional”. That motivated Tyler to sing and led to him making the song running out of time. It reminds me of when Kanye said Michael Jackson “put the battery in his back” to make 808s and Heartbreak after MJ told him he liked his singing.

Fun fact: the last note at the end of "ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?" is the exact same as the one at the start of "IGOR's THEME", essentially making this album a loop, as if this cycle of love and heartbreak continues forever. great reactions guys keep up the amazing vids!!

Tyler and Frank actually practically started together. They were part of a clique called odd future with other artists like Earl Sweatshirt (who was on channel orange)
You guys should definetly do Flower Boy(2017) and CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST(2021) by him. IGOR was 2019. His Last 3 Album run is insane.

Tyler is a great rapper, but more importantly he is a great composer, songwriter, and pianist. He plays the keys on all of his albums.
And like people said, Tyler and Frank are basically like brothers.

@@TwistTheScript Odd future also included Sydney Bennett (Syd). She went on to form the band The Internet. I believe you'd love them. Her band also included guitarist Steve Lacy who now makes his own music, similar to Frank Ocean and Tyler in a way but still very much in his own lane.

love tyler and this album. know you mentioned about possibly going through his discography from the start but i think id recommend touching his newer stuff first before going backwards just because of the drastic difference in sound. 'call me if you get lost', 'flower boy' and maybe even 'cherry bomb' are good places to go to next i reckon

I’m a Tyler fanatic basically and I love that y’all appreciate this album !! I recommend the next Tyler album should be Flower Boy because that’s when ppl started seeing the evolution and progression heavily in Tyler the creator. Also Tyler has been releasing music since 2009 and he founded the collective hip hop supergroup called Odd Future (consisting of artists: Tyler, Frank Ocean, Earl sweatshirt, The internet) makes HUGE SENSE why you compare it to Frank in a way !!

To sum up the story of the album, tyler was falling in love with this dude but that guy was in a relationship with a girl, so he goes from falling in love, to wanting to basically homewreck their relationship, to very painfully trying to get over the whole thing, until the very end when he asks if they can still be friends, basically making the whole situation an endless loop

@@TwistTheScript Haha of course! Also, I know there are tons of comments talking about what Tyler album you guys should listen to next, and most of them say either Call Me If You Get Lost or Flower Boy, which I completely agree with. I personally say Flower Boy would be an interesting next listen.
Tyler is an artist that only gets better the more you know about his personal life and how his music and persona developed throughout his albums. If you are truly interested, I highly recommend you learn more about him. Truly a generational talent and figure overall with lots of great stuff to say about music and the industry.

He’s a complete musician he’s produced, arranged, composed, and wrote all of his songs in his catalog except 3 of them incredible artist even though he’s a wild person he is very serious about music and is just one of the best artists around today
Tyler was definitely a bit reckless back in the day with his interviews but his growth has been a pleasure to see.

tyler is bi, the lyrics on this album are kind of purposely vague so the listener can connect their own experiences to it, but it does have a story. the story is about igor (tyler) falling in love with another bisexual man, but this man is down low and also has a girlfriend, so igor falls in love and gets heartbroken because the man chooses the woman over him. in a boy is a gun, tyler says “you’re my favorite garçon” which is french for boy, making it clear he’s talking about another man. the story loops as he falls in love, gets heart broken, then wants to stay friends, before inevitably falling in love again

the father of the "off beat" timing drums and samples is j dilla you should listen to his album donuts its just instrumentals. he has inspired so many people in hip hop like kanye and tyler and even outside of the genre

Just finished watching the video! You guys definitely should check out Flower Boy or Call Me If You Get Lost or, I'll probably be the only one to suggest this but "tyler the creator is probably the most iconic person to be alive pt. 1" its a 10 minute video of just Tyler being iconic/funny/stupid, it really gets you seeing how quirky and insane he really is. Probably wont be as heavily requested but i feel like dad would love The Internet (band formed by Odd Future member Syd)
All of Tyler’s albums sound completely different, especially with the first 3 albums, Bastard, Goblin, Wolf. I love Tyler’s more recent sound but I think you guys should experience at least one of tyler old albums which had absolutely no filter and contains some of the craziest lyrics you’ll hear. If you guys are gonna listen to one of his older albums you should probably listen to Wolf because it has elements of Tyler’s recent sound but it’s still edgy and unforgiving with its lyrics. If you guys want to listen to some of the harshest themes and lyrics in music then listen to Goblin or Bastard. Also great reactions guys, I’m loving the videos.

Fun fact: When you get into Tyler's albums, every tenth song is always a multiple song track kind of like a bonus song in the album. The only album that doesn't follow this trend is his first album Goblin
His earliest albums have the bad language you were mentioning, but it's intentional as they're all connected and tell the story of a troubled young man with each album representing different sessions with a therapist. His music has been very different from album to album, and his last 3 are probably his best although they all offer something different, so it depends what you're looking for.

If you like frank Ocean you will like Steve Lacy. He is part of a band named the internet, that worked with frank Ocean and tyler the creator. They where all in a group named odd future there is way more members too.
