Hi! My 8 month old sits independently with midline crossing...maybe a little more preferred to one side. She doesn't come to sitting from a lying down position yet and doesn't go on all fours. She only likes to be pulled into standing. She crawled once or twice and that too was an army crawl in the backwards direction.
I'm worried, do you think all of this can be fixed?

Her movement is not optimal. What you are seeing her do is motion. Milestones movements are not here and there things or happen once or twice they should happen, be played with, developed and then her system should evolve into the next milestone with ease. You should be worried if you want optimal development. You can give your baby all the experiences of her movements she has been missing out on but as far as what is "fixed" will depend on what is causing the delays. If is simply some movement gliches, then everything can be resolved. If something more serious is going on, you will want to focus more on making the milestone movements more optimal so other aspects of development can keep progressing and not be hindered by the lack of optimal milestone movements happening in the body. You may need to be more of an advocate for your child and get the doctors more involved. If something more serious is going on, in any case, the performance of the milestones may always be difficult to some degree for your daughter, but by manually giving your child milestone experiences, you are giving her opportunities to manifest her best self. I don't say that to scare, you I just see both sides of the coin. I can give you a free movement review on my Facebook group on how to optimize her system and if you need to be pushing your doctors more to take your daughters lack of developmental movements more seriously. I can tell you already, that to take steps forward, you want to work on earlier milestone movements to her present milestone more optimal and future milestones more possible. Hi! My baby is 10 months year old, he sits and moves nicely. Goes from sitting to his tummy and back. He climbs up the stairs and pulls himself up. But he’s army crawling and I’m nervous he’s getting used to it because he’s very quick and is very active and it doesn’t look like he wants to go in all fours. He will rock back and fourth in all fours but when he crawls it’s army. Is this normal? How could I get him evaluated?

Your child can still have a great future even though the development is not optimal. Many parents will tell you that. That being said that doesn't help the yucky feeling in your gut that something is off. Let's see what's going on with your child and get you some ways to work with him and optimize his movements, development, and independence. You are right to worry and you have a right to have tools to do something about it now! Those things are not normal for optimal development. I do free movement review on Facebook - facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners. If you want to talk to me personally you need to schedule a private zoom consultation. You can request on at admin.info@movementlesson.com.
