  • It's April and with a cold snap forecast, I'm at the allotment garden to make sure that the potato leaves are well mulched to protect them from frost. I also complete the raspberry cane garden edging on the raspberry patch, give you an update on the book, and show you what the home garden looks like as we're preparing to move.

Tanya you are such a joy to watch. You always sound so upbeat even with all you have to do. I have an acre of garden here in New Zealand and we are going into winter. I have all my winter vegetables planted and replacement seedlings coming on. Now its pruning time, raking up leaves, composting spare beds etc...I feel overwhelmed and I'm NOT moving house as well! You are a real treasure. I do love your videos and little Maggie too.

I have ordered my book from our small independent local book shop as I like to support them. Love the idea using the raspberry canes. My bed is only a year old, but hopefully this year I will have some long canes to use at the end of the season. Hope all goes well with your house/garden move!

Only getting to watch this now, but really enjoyed it! You're super busy at the minute, between the allotment and your house move. All the very best with the move! Love the raspberry cane edging - I made something similar this year to protect some daffodils that are planted in our lawn. Except we have a MASSIVE bamboo that's a total thug so I thinned it out a bit and used the thinnings (anything to try and keep it in check!)

Can't wait to make some raspberry cane edging too! Greenhouse question: I notice some of your plants have Perlite mixed in and some have Vermiculite on top, what is the difference in usage for these two products? I've got both but am never sure of when to use one rather than the other. Thank you.

Although I am approaching the age of 57 this coming June, I feel that I could walk over red hot coals for you Tanya, you are such a beautiful lasy on looks and personality. I am just starting my part time job again after lockdown last year as an allotment tutor in Bury, Greater Manchester. I am a retired computer hardware repair engineer, now with a much better work-life balance in semi-retirement, enjoying my new life after 36 years on the 'hamster wheel'.

instead destroying trees we can be able to use Forest as building blocks then tearing blocks. I love the Teal colors. I hope you can this wise advise why? We can be able to change the world in 2 ways not just 1 we can be able to grow gardens in trees and grow them on the trees and we could make a new species

I'm so happy for you the house is finalized! Is it typical to wait that long where you live or was that mostly because of lock downs? I believe my copy of your book is to arrive in Canada here on April 12th. Speaking of snow - the last of the snow on my yard melted last week and now they are calling for upwards of 25 cm of snow over the next two days...uggh.

I see you spread aged manure. Do you plant seeds/seedling directly in it? I'm planning on doing the no till this Spring, but I have a layer of seaweed and aged horse manure on top of my soil. Should I mix it all up slightly before planting?

"And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, ‘This is what we were provided with before.’ And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally.” (Quran . 2:25)
