    When I built my outdoor shower I just put an IBC tote (food grade) behind the shower building then ran it into a propane-fed wall-mount water heater. This then goes into a small pressure tank to build up the pressure and then out to the shower area like any normal shower. I made sure to foam-wrap all the exposed pipes for winter use. The roof has several sections of clear corrugated roof panels for natural light. I do have a battery (solar-charged) light inside for nighttime use. Everything is made of sanded cedar. the wastewater goes down into the garden area and a tank to water the lawn from. Guests have to use a shampoo that is compatible with this type of watering. I find I enjoy using this more than the inside regular shower.

      @@goodgroundfarm I will apply a few of your ideas to our build. I will be sure to give a shout out to @goodgroundfarm when I post! Going out to the property tomorrow to shut down for winter. Can't wait to get going again in the Spring.

    That dilution of bleach is not going t hurt you if you drink some.
    Dilution is key to safely consuming bleach. The CDC recommends adding eight drops of unscented bleach per gallon of water, if that water is clear. If the water you want to purify is cloudy, and you cannot first filter those occlusions from it, the CDC says you should double that quantity to 16 drops per gallon. In both cases, you need to wait 30 minutes before drinking to ensure the water is disinfected.

      @goodgroundfarm I will be hard plumbing my rv toilet into a 300 gal. punpable septic tank, the sink and shower will be going into a gray water tank that will drain into the ground. What size line does a rv toilet require ? Thanks

    If you would like to save money on propane and not even have to use the on demand hot water you can buy a burning Barrel raise it up off the ground burn wood under it and have an olive barrel inside of the burning Barrel, fill water between the olive barrel and the burning Barrel & also filling the olive barrel with clean water. Use a sumo pump inside the OLIVE BARREL as hot water for the shower/sink....
    Basically like warming a bottle of milk in a pan of hot water.
    Just a thought..

    How do you dispose waste ftom the blu boy to your actual septic tank?

      I pull the portable septic tank (it has wheels) to my permanent septic tank and dump it in there.

    Very cool setup, i like it. Question, are all your lights running off that little solar panel and battery? Also, if u don't mind sharing, what was your total cost on just the solar system and tankless setup. Im only asking because im currently building my outdoor shower myself, but on a small budget.

      Hey thanks for watching! All electric runs off that one solar panel and bettery. I’ll have to check on the pricing but almost everything came from amazon

    The Millwaukee Transfer Pump was my first tool purchase when beginning my homestead home. One of the best tool purchases I have ever made. I have an on demand water heater like the one you have installed. It has a hot water/cold water knob but the shower on/off valve handle seems also to have a choice, like most showers, of adjusting the water temperature by the shower user. A few minutes later you were inside the building and used the term, 'the water mixing room'. How did you manage all three of those things while allowing the shower user to mix or adjust the water temp? Is that clear as mud? I can try to explain my question if you need me to. Thank you! Also, I have a portable clothes washer that I use as well using a submersible pump in a 35 gallon tank. Could I use the on demand water heater for that as well?

    • @goodgroundfarm
      @goodgroundfarm  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I keep the water heater at a constant temp and the user adjusts the temp for their liking using the knobs. I think I’m hearing you correctly. Let me know if that helps. As for water mixing room…I’m not sure what that means lol. The shower has a valve the “mixes” the water before it comes out. Hope that helps

    Wow, very nice, I am definitely picking up a few tricks from your build. I am in South Africa and busy building out my grounds and have been looking for ideas on how to build the out houses. Definitely reusing your strategy. By the way, the toilet and shower both drain into the portable tank ?

    • @goodgroundfarm
      @goodgroundfarm  10 месяцев назад

      Glad you found it useful! The toilet drains into the tank, the shower and sink run into a big hole I dug and filled with rocks under the shower boards. Hope that helps!

    What do you do in the winter? Does everything freeze up?

    • @goodgroundfarm
      @goodgroundfarm  4 месяца назад

      Over the winter we drain the lines. Plus we have very mild winters most of the time so freezing isn’t always an issue. If you lived farther North than us I would drain the lines for sure and insulate all the pipes. Hope that helps!

    How many showers / 3 tanks? More or less?

      @homerguerrero 4 месяца назад

      Also. Realistically? How many flushes do you get outta the 24 gallon rolling septic?

    • @goodgroundfarm
      @goodgroundfarm  4 месяца назад

      Hey! Not sure how many showers you can get out of approximately 150 gallons but I’m thinking a lot!

    • @goodgroundfarm
      @goodgroundfarm  4 месяца назад

      As for the flushes, you have to keep an eye on it when we have a full campground. I would say you will have to empty it every two or three days if you have 4-6 people camping
