    Very cool setup, i like it. Question, are all your lights running off that little solar panel and battery? Also, if u don't mind sharing, what was your total cost on just the solar system and tankless setup. Im only asking because im currently building my outdoor shower myself, but on a small budget.

    The Millwaukee Transfer Pump was my first tool purchase when beginning my homestead home. One of the best tool purchases I have ever made. I have an on demand water heater like the one you have installed. It has a hot water/cold water knob but the shower on/off valve handle seems also to have a choice, like most showers, of adjusting the water temperature by the shower user. A few minutes later you were inside the building and used the term, 'the water mixing room'. How did you manage all three of those things while allowing the shower user to mix or adjust the water temp? Is that clear as mud? I can try to explain my question if you need me to. Thank you! Also, I have a portable clothes washer that I use as well using a submersible pump in a 35 gallon tank. Could I use the on demand water heater for that as well?

    • @goodgroundfarm
      @goodgroundfarm 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for watching! I keep the water heater at a constant temp and the user adjusts the temp for their liking using the knobs. I think I’m hearing you correctly. Let me know if that helps. As for water mixing room…I’m not sure what that means lol. The shower has a valve the “mixes” the water before it comes out. Hope that helps

    When I built my outdoor shower I just put an IBC tote (food grade) behind the shower building then ran it into a propane-fed wall-mount water heater. This then goes into a small pressure tank to build up the pressure and then out to the shower area like any normal shower. I made sure to foam-wrap all the exposed pipes for winter use. The roof has several sections of clear corrugated roof panels for natural light. I do have a battery (solar-charged) light inside for nighttime use. Everything is made of sanded cedar. the wastewater goes down into the garden area and a tank to water the lawn from. Guests have to use a shampoo that is compatible with this type of watering. I find I enjoy using this more than the inside regular shower.

    A thistle plant is a living organism in nature that grows naturally from seed widely dispersed onto naturally fertile ground after being naturally processed in the digestive system of a bird, another living organism. The definition of organic is: Of, related to, or derived from a living organism. How is it organic for you to kill a thistle, a naturally occuring, living organism? Personally, I don't really care what you do with the weeds on your property. But people who raise their noses and repeat the word organic over and over regarding their gardening methods appear shallow, phony, superficial, and are irksome. They're akin to the "birders" who have nature lover stickers all over their Subarus, but are very selective in the nature they choose to love. They'll put out bird feeders and birdhouses to attract birds. Then if House Sparrows or other species THEY deem invasive or they consider unattractive show up at them, they scare them away with a broom or a water hose.

    That dilution of bleach is not going t hurt you if you drink some. Dilution is key to safely consuming bleach. The CDC recommends adding eight drops of unscented bleach per gallon of water, if that water is clear. If the water you want to purify is cloudy, and you cannot first filter those occlusions from it, the CDC says you should double that quantity to 16 drops per gallon. In both cases, you need to wait 30 minutes before drinking to ensure the water is disinfected.
