I made 3k from matched betting while on maternity leave. My advice is to track everything how much your betting, how much you are making, offers, log all of your passwords and sign ups.
Just placed my first 3 bets, the hardest part was just doing it, I spent so long learning about it before just taking that first tutorial bet. It’s easier than it looks.
Thank you , I’ve made £100 in my first 6 sign ups . So pleased . It just gets easier the more you do x Yes I agree with the others. Write down all your logins and passwords . I have a page per bookmakers. One for the qualifying bet and one for the free bet . X
Hi, maybe you can tell me (I've gone through some of the comments and haven't found what I was looking for). So basically, you have to create a new user account for all those websites pretty much every day to place qualifying bet followed by free (bonus) money bets?
Hiya there mamafurfur. I've just started match betting and I've made a good sizeable profit . But I also made a couple of mistakes but with your video. It's made it easier for me to understand and thank you for making clearer for me 👍👍
@@JenniferAMThomson Thank you. I'm out of isolation tomorrow so can be with my family again. I made £49 with my first attempt at matched betting. It's actually amazing. Thanks for taking the time to help us all and stay safe, you've to millionaire to make!
This is very interesting, thank you very much, this was one of my 2021 wish list to learn and do matched betting. Great video, you have explained superbly, now it is up to me to put the learning into practice 😀
Great explainer video, for another user reference after 3 months the profit was £450 spending probably an hour a day setting things up. Not sure how £2500 is possible in 3 months, perhaps the free bets were more generous back when you did it.
Yes thank you for sharing that. So this was a few years ago when we had the Euros mainly happening and offers were constant at that time. I put in probably 8 hours a week for the few months.
I have made a couple of grand too. Still doing it but bookies do get wise to it after a while and restrict your offers. You can make good money though.
@@akali83 Place a random matched bet every now and again that doesn't have any free bet incentive. You're likely to lose a few pennies, but it tells the bookies that you're not just interested in free bets 👍
So for matched betting are you limited by the number of bookies there are - you can only do it for introductory offers? So once you’ve gone through them all you can’t keep doing matched betting? I’m sure I’ve heard of people doing matched betting long term.
Lots of bookies have reload offers for existing customers, but if you're just exploiting those offers they can ban you so better to place the odd real bet on there
Great explanation, Jen. I really enjoyed matched betting when I tried it. I put it on pause as I was buying a house, and was worried on all of the gambling payments leaving my bank account, however, I plan to get started again very very soon. Gary.
That's a good point Gary - so when I did Matched Betting I used a "Skrill" account that allowed the money (kind of like Paypal) to move between the exchange and sites without it going via my bank account.
@@JenniferAMThomson I really should have done this! Makes perfect sense, trust you to be so organised as always. Thanks for the idea, Jen. Hope you guys are all well. Gary.
I understand each step and how you earn profit off the free bet. But after the sign-up free bet has been used, where do you go next? Do you have to continue making accounts on different bookmakers? I've read that customers get reload offers, but how many of these do you get and how often? I'm struggling to see how you could make 'decent' profit from this daily, because it seems unlikely you'll get a free bet every day. Could anyone explain please!
Great video !!! but if it will come draw at the last match with Grisby ? At the final It's not means that you are loosing your 3 times real money? ( Qualify at ecoro and the 2 times at Betfair ? )
Hate to break it to you but backing rangers and then laying Celtic and the draw is exactly the same thing. If it’s Celtic or the draw the back on rangers loses as does the lay bet . What you want to do is back rangers on the sports book and then lay them on the exchange triggering (normally) a small loss to gain the free bet
Hey Jennifer, I’m a matched better and have been for a wee while. I understand your ethics and appetite for charitable giving are strong which is great! I’d love to hear your view on the ethics of matched betting and what you’d say to anyone who might say it’s harming an industry. I ask because I’ve seen articles relating to the betting industry side, I’ve also had questions raised from others I know on the activity. Thank you
This is a great question - I was very precise in my wording at the start and throughout this video that if any aspect of matched betting would cause misuse to not consider it as a way to make money at all - I did it for a few months and shut down all accounts once I decided to stop as I understood the process and the purpose of using the sites. With Matched betting you are using maths and exchanges to guarantee profits every time to you as the user so not "risk taking and gambling on one outcome with your money" unlike how the sites normally want you to interact with them, but that also means you are setting up accounts for one part of it with the companies and placing money in to them (giving them business) so not causing them any lack. Same strong advice as I would give when Investing in the stock market, you need to know what you are doing and also be sure you will not misuse or be lead to misuse your time or money before doing anything. If some feel that it isn't fair to the industry using free bets in this way to profit, I can respect all arguments but can only go from my own experience of doing it and the process where I didn't see this as happening.
very well presented. so technically if I opened account all bookies, eventually I run out of accounts being "new customer" right ? and then thats the end of this system.
Thanks for the well and vivid explanation. My question is... Can I do matched betting using the Matchbox Exchange since Betfair is restricted in my country.
Hi MamaFurFur. Did you ever use the 2up strategy? Could you possibly do a video which explains this? It's easy to get too advanced too quickly and just end up confused and giving up
There's only so many online bookies, and I guess as you work your way through all of them, that's where your matched betting side hustle operation starts to dry up and comes to an end? Because these free bets that appear on offer are presumably just for new customers..
Hi thanks for the very informative video. But just a question. Once I used my free bet and get my first profit, what will I do next? Do I still have to use the (free bet snr) for my calculations for the succeeding bets? Thanks
Hi there - no you would repeat the entire process with your next offer depending on the nature of it. Place a qualifying bet to get the promotion then use a free bet to make profit. If you are in any doubt though, please do read up further so you understand all the details before placing anything so you do not lose any money in the process.
Hi, I did matches betting back a few years now, but found that exhausted the free bets .... do you just have to wait for them to come back around again or something else? Not sure how you can do it over a longer period of time. Thanks
Sorry very New to MB just a quick question Coral says 4 x£5 free bets so can use the £20 for one bet or have to go through the process four times. Thanks for the video just subbed still cant get my head around it.
You would do the process four times using the £5 bets. If you are using Oddsmonkey or another help platform they usually take you through the steps thoroughly too.
I see how this is done with the free bets and have done it years back. My question is around the liability part.. this scares me. So if I was using my own money I could win at the bookie and lose at the exchange and they will take a massive liability from me?? this liability figure can be much much more than the stake i layed. So . why do they have this … its like a punsihment .. im really confused
there are not many bookies who allow you to use the say £30 free bet all at once. They expect this free money to be split up into smaller units, what are your thoughts on this ?
How much time would you expect to spend on this to make it worth while? Say you started with £100, how much time would it roughly take to be at £100 profit?
I found I made my £100 back within a few weeks based on doing around 5 offers as a new customer, but that was when sporting events were normal and every week. It really depends on the sign up offers at the time and potential profits I'm afraid.
@@JenniferAMThomson fair enough, thanks for responding. Assuming you were working full time, is this something you were doing in quick sessions as new offers would come up? Or were you stuck finding the right Scottish game for hours? 😆
I am interested in learning the basics, I have a couple of questions though; a) How long roughly do you reckon I would be able to profit from this method before I burnout all the introductory offers? b) Is this something I could teach my wife once I have "dried the well"?
How does following a process that = £0win/ loss (or in fact a loss of pennies) then make a profit? I get how you get the free bet, but how then does using that free bet make money and not also balance out as £0/ -pennies? Sorry if this is an obvious question, I feel like I'm missing a big part of how this works.
Your original bet to qualify for the free bet ends up as 0 profit. But then the free bet they give you after placing that bet, say £10, you then bet for and against something so you both lose then regain that free £10. That changes the free bet 'money' into real money that you can then put into your bank account. You're basically just changing the free bet number into withdrawable cash.
how on earth did you make 2500? I don't fully get it. If i get a 20 free bet and i want to make a sizeable profit it would be difficult based on the odds. The profits would be very small

If you bet on all 3 outcomes on a football match you can technically make a profit It just means the underdog won or got a draw against a big favourite.
Bookmakers make profit from offering odds that do not reflect the true probability of an outcome so 9/10 you will lose money ... Only on rare occasions can you Dutch outcomes for a profit. Various info online about dutching is available
You need to use a matched betting calculator, but it will tell you exactly how much to bet if you watch my tutorial fully and also the online information on OddsMonkey (for example).
Because if the bet you place at the bookie wins, it means your lay bet (betfair) will have lost. This costs money (liability) which comes out of your betfair account. The winnings on the bookie side will have covered that loss though. Effectively, your just moving money around on the qualifying bet.
It will always cost you money with the qualifying bet as you are using real money to place it. The odds for the for and against bet will always work out that if you placed both of them there is a small difference, or otherwise people would place both bets all the time and make profit.

Hi Jennifer I was literally talking about this with a friend from work and was about to research so perfect timing. To get the best return from the free bet I find the liability really high so is it best to put £200 in to exchange account? How often did you spend per week to get 2.5k?
The amount you wish to use is totally up to you, also with higher amounts be sure to double and tripe check both parts of the back and lay side so you don't make any mistakes. I would do a few signups a day but mostly at the weekend. Maybe 2-3 hours a week as the offers were the signups and straight forward.

Why do you lose money with the qualifying bet, if you do the exact same process with the free bet? Why can't you make money with the qualifying bet?
