    I think many people here are missing the point. Yes, for the average millionaire, this is probably not worth it. But if you're a celebrity, particularly an A-lister, who is used to being surrounded by dozens of paparazzi and crazy fans, this is a great option to avoid them. You also avoid security and baggage claim lines.
    Honestly if they have well over the money required for this, it's not a bad idea.

      Primitave running a private jet is way to expensive. You’ll need to be sustaining a good multiple billion dollars to be utilizing a private jet frequently. Millionaires with private jets rarely use it because of the running costs.

    • @allisonmahmood
      @allisonmahmood 5 лет назад +316

      David A you know you can rent a jet right? It’s cheaper than owning a jet if you don’t fly often and you have the convenience of flying whenever and not having to be bothered by as much security.

    • @allisonmahmood
      @allisonmahmood 5 лет назад +118

      Private jets are nice, but for really long haul flights it’s almost always nicer to have the space of first class suites with airline like Emirates and others. Only if you are like Trump and own an airline targeted plane converted into a private jet is your jet always nicer since you have both a really nice big space as well as convenience of a private plane.

    • @TysonIke
      @TysonIke 3 года назад +1

      @@dontmindme5163 one issue is that private jets can’t fly long distances. They can’t because they are small and most private jets can’t store enough fuel and the second reason is because their engines are not powerful enough to get certified to fly over oceans. For celebrities, privacy is probably the priority. Even arriving at a normal terminal and going straight to the first class lounge involves passing people who are going to stare at you, take pictures, whatever. People in the first class lounge (which is often in the same area as business) are going to do the same.
    You could get a private jet or a chartered flight, but private jets are expensive even when chartered out (insurance, maintenance, fuel costs, crew costs), and chartered flights are also pretty expensive.
    This is a cheaper option, completely hassle free, very convenient, and entirely private.
    Since it's positioned in LA which is home to some of the most recognisable faces in the world, this does seem to make sense.

    Actually, this isn't the first private, luxury terminal in America... because I happened to work at the place highlighted in this episode of LIfestyles of the Rich and Famous, back in the 80's - MGM Grand Airlines. The terminal was based in El Segundo, CA (Los Angeles County). I worked in the office, and I would watch all the most famous people getting dropped off at the red carpet going into the well appointed, luxury lounge to wait for their flights from LA to New York. That was the only destination, as New York and Los Angeles were where the entertainment business was at, back then, and also most of the wealth. The Trumps, The Jacksons, Paul Newman, Liz Taylor, stars from TV, movies, they were all there. The only restroom in the building was in the lounge, and one day I had to cut through there to get to the loo, and it was mind boggling, the group of people waiting for the next flight out. It was quite expensive, $3600 round trip, I believe, per person. The jets had fine china, brass fixtures, leather, fine linens, it was quite posh. It was really a surreal experience. I was offered a long term position, but turned it down. It would have been quite something, but I was from LA and to me, big names in Hollywood were just my neighbors, for the most part, and the back office politics made it miserable behind the scenes - bad management. Was fun, though, something to remember. ruclips.net/video/abeqtk-RnWE/видео.html

      Why? Whos being hurt? Are you jealous enough to kill someone over it? Or is your part just being indignant on others behalf?

      @@davidgill3356 income equality and climate change are rising, and add to that all the ways by which a lack of money can set you back for years if not worse. Meanwhile huge amounts of resources are spent instead on saving rich people from being in a crowded place for a short period of time. You're right.. It's pretty difficult to see where this is going wrong. It's not an exception, it's a trend.

      i5 4670k and what resources are being spent? Is there going to be a hotel grade furniture or condom shortage because of this? Paying for this is a good thing.
