    Such a shame.... The last time I was in Ireland was about ten years ago and this convent was beautiful!!! Every year we would visit the convent while on holiday from England and the nuns were really nice. Even showing us around 1 year and telling us about the history, will be sad to see it in this state when I return for a holiday next year

    My late husband, the Irish writer Jack Holland, had the fondest memories of visiting his cousin Sister Christina at the convent in Loughglynn every summer as a boy.

      We used to visit in the summer when we were over on holiday Mary my mother had relatives in the area and a cousin Tommie Maloney who new the nuns.
      The convent was well kept back then,
      Like your husband fond memories

    My wife used to go there with the milk churn to the convent creamery on the donkey and cart every day in the summer months when she was young(er).The convent and grounds were always immaculate with beautiful grounds.

    Oh the memories. This was once a immaculate place its a shame the government allowed it to fall into this state of disrepair
