  • This is a video of my two completed 1/350 scale FFG(X), which will be built in 2021 and 2022 from the US Naval version of the Italian, Fincantieri Marinette FREMM frigate design. These are shown together, and then in a full 1/350 scale US Navy Carrier Strike group centered on the US Navy USS Ronald Reagan, and its other SSN (Virginia class), Burke, and Ticonderoga escorts.
The two models were purchased from Dutch Fleet Naval Miniatures on the Shapeways 3D site which features 3D models printed out on 3D machines. I have purchased several Dutch Naval Miniatures in 1/350 (like the German F125 Baden Wuerttemberg F125 FFG, the Chinese Type 055 Renhai Large DDG (a CG in the US nomenclature), and the Russian Project 22350 Admiral Gorshkov FFG, and have found them to be excellent 3D representations.
I then take off the less detailed pieces and then add Veteran, Trumpeter, and other detailed plastic parts (some of then completely hand made) and etched metal railing and sensors to the 3D model to completely detail them out. (See my first FFG(X) video which explains exactly what). In some cases I add other detailed 3D printed parts (like the Naval Strike Missiles on these frigate purchased from SNAFU (Dutch Miniatures has them also) is and other outlets like SNAFU and others on Shapeways 3D Market.
The Ronald Reagan, shown here and in its own video on my channel, had numerous parts purchased from Bacon Fist (who has virtually all of the hanger wall segments and sponsons for all of the Nimitz class in 1/350 scale) as well as the entire island for the Ford class, SNAFU, Echoco, and others. See the CVN-80 USS Enterprise 1/350 model video and its strike group for a GREAT example of the same.
These FFG(X) vessels will provide probably the best frigates for US Navy carrier escorts. There will be at least 20 of them and I am hoping for more, like 24 or 28. They carry a hefty anti-surface loadout of 16 Naval Strike Missiles, a 32 Mk-41 VLS launcher that can carry the LRSAM, all of the surface launched Tomahawk missiles, all of the standard missiles, and ...very importantly...the quad packed ESSMs. A good, normal escort for the Carriers can now include, two Burks AEGIS DDGs, one Ticonderoga AEGIS DDG, two of the Frigates, which are also AEGIS, and one to two SSNs (probably one Virginia and one LA Class, or two Virginias). They will certainly be far better than either of the LCS class vessels, even with the upgraded to the Fast Frigates. Use the Freedom for SAGs, ASW roles, and show the flag and normal patrol roles. Use the Independence for counter-mine, mining, Special forces, ASW escort for ARGs, Patrol, and SAG capabilities.
These new FFG(X) vessels should be the escorts for the carriers and large amphibious, or other multi-role assignments.
With a towed array sonar and a variable depth sonar and two Seahawk helicopters, they have a very strong ASW capability. I show FFG-81, the second vessel, with a US Navy COD Osprey (which was chosen for the new COD aircraft and is being phased in on the Nimitz and Ford class carriers now).
I hope you enjoy the video. Please tell others about my 1/350 scale and 1/72 scale/ Military Channel. I have CSGs from most all of the world navies. As I say in my 1st comment, I will be getting a 1/350 scale JMSDF Kaga, Izumo class carrier next week with the ski-jump and equipped with 20 F-35Bs, SH-60J Sea Hawks, ECH-101 helos, and JMSDF Naval Ospreys as well. Watch for it to come out after I detail her up over the next 2-4 weeks.

GREAT video of two FFG(X) from Dutch Fleet Miniatures, a 3D Print outlet on Shapeways. GREAT products. My next video will be about the 1/350 scale JMSDF, the second Japanese Izumo carrier which will have a ski-jump and 20 F-35Bs. REALLY looking forward to detailing that vessel.

Lovely stuff Jeff. The tiny figures on the aircraft carrier are really effective in conveying the scale of that beast. You've been busy!

Thank you. Take a look at my video of a build of the CVN-80 USS Enterprise, which is now building. This model was based on a Trumpeter USS Nimitz model in 1/350 scale and then build out with several 3D prints I had friends do of 6th gen US Navy proposals (from Boeing and Grumman), a 3D build of the new Ford class ISland, and several hand build additions to turn that Nimitz model into the 3rd Ford class model, CVN-80 USS Enterprise: i.ytimg.com/vi/q04Hy8CQjC8/hqdefault.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEZCPYBEIoBSFXyq4qpAwsIARUAAIhCGAFwAQ==&rs=AOn4CLDQNzQ7729_3A2hkUeviH9-tI1ciw Let me know what you think there on that video page. PLease feel free to pass the word around and have friends see it and subsribe. I have videos in 1/350 scale of virtually all of the modern ships of all the major world navies on my channel. Again, thanks for the kind words, and Good bless you and yours...and please, please vote against the Dems who are putting a Marxist agenda together in their next presidential ticket.

The Constellation class FFG probably will be the biggest frigates in world by displacement -over 7000t. However, for this size they should be better armed in terms of vls-64 vls is the perfect number.

Jeff, another Great build....I, myself, should be getting a 700 scale of these ships from that site but, on the face of the superstructure of the ship ( I think it was FFG-81 ) has what looks like 'steps' while the FFG-80 has a 'smoother' face on it forward part of the superstructure. The question then is are they two (2) different printed types "smooth" and "Smoother" or did you sanded down the face of one and not the other?? Second question is I understand the 3D printed media leaves these 'steps', but did you do Any sanding of the hull/superstructure??
Thanks, again for another great video.

They are the same material, the difference is simply the lighting. They both have the same material, the which is the White Natural Versatile Plastic, which is the cheapest for this full hull model in 1/350 scale, yet they look very good, especially with all the details. FFG-80 is the first, FFG-811 is the second. You will need to add a lot of hand made builds, and/or pieces from other models, or Veteran MOdels, Trunpeter accessories, etc. to get the look I have put into these.

Hello Jeff, what do you think about the 6th generation fighter recently?

    • @JeffHead-IdahoUSA
      @JeffHead-IdahoUSA  4 года назад +1

It is something that the Trump administration gave us. Designed and built in one year, based off already existing initial protype art plans Lockeed, Grumna, and Boeing had already given...and one of them (or more) helped build this fighter. It looks like the type of fighters I put on my CVN-80-, USS Enterprise buile which include the Boeing and Grumman 6th gen advanced art at the time here: ruclips.net/video/q04Hy8CQjC8/видео.html This Air Force new 6th gen fighter is VERY stealthyy and will contain all sorts of new Tech like a laser weapons system, perhaps doibtful but perhaps a rail gun, definitely some type of gun if not a rail gun, new exotic missiles, all of the 6th gen and developed to continue US air dominance over the new Chiese and RUssian fighters, whech the F-35 and the F-22 already have an edge over. 6th gen US FIghter: www.popularmechanics.com/military/aviation/a34030586/air-force-secret-new-fighter-jet/

Hi Jeff, wouldn't it be more cost efficient and combat sustainable to stop building carriers and mass produce smaller ships like this because it seems like weapons technology is advanced enough that we don't really need carriers anymore, I know we need a small carrier for AEW purposes but that's it. My argument is that combat ships can do the same thing a carrier air-wing can do and can be lost without as much consequence, I don't feel the sortie range of a carrier air-wing has any value because it can be mitigated anyway. What do you think? Thanks!

Has anyone even thought about the new green deal? Most of our shipping, all of our aircraft, our armor, missiles. All of ours
run off petroleum which the democrats planto cut to zero. Does anyone think the Chinese or Russians or any or their enemies will do the same? I'm sure they will not. These traitors will destroy the strongest military in the world - ours - so quickly. Spread the word...vote them out!
