    There's a common misconception where people think that just because they can play the guitar, they can also teach it. That's made it really hard for me and many others to learn, but Scott is such a great teacher and it helps so much.

      @@philjames1019 I can attest to how amazing the patreon page is. Most one hour lessons cost about $40 from an instructor. Here you get hundreds of hours of content and a community page for 1/4 of that price per month. For those who can set aside two coffee's a month, I highly recommend

    I learned more from watching three of your videos than I have in my eight months of playing guitar and failing go get into theory. To be fair, I wasn’t very motivated before, but you also just make it so, so easy to understand. There’s something very nice about learning theory that you can immediately apply and try for yourself.     I just want to let you know how blessed I am for the fact we still have genuine and considerate people left in the world you are sharing your knowledge for all the world to see and I justb to or this hand m we down acoustic from my brother 2 days ago and as soon as I'm ready to come back to this video I will but I appreciate your way of thinking your CAGED video helped me understand what I was not realizing yet because I play piano so I think as soon as I am comfortable playing notes I'm already going to know how to play the chord much love from the Midwest man thank you so much❤️

    This is exactly what I was working on since yesterday, I found the print outs which was printed out long time ago and forgotten all about it since I wasn’t interested in learning in depth 😄 Whatever little I learnt made me learn all the more, so this lesson is supporting it, so thanks a heaps!     I had a guitar for years and just ended up noodling aimlessly on scales and a riffs for hours on end, I understood a fair bit of theory but never really had it all just come together until I saw your lessons. thank you for giving me that light bulb moment.     you totally nail the best ways to explain chord structure and theory.im 55 and i didnt have videos when i was in early teens and had to experiment.You make it and have given me easier ways to explain to like my sister who is 65 and now learning banjo,yeah cool huh.but i talk to much and confuses her because i dont play banjo but all theory as you know is relative.So just a big thank you my friend for being patient and just awesome!!! mean it.

    Glad you are back. You are by far my favorite guitar teacher on YT. You teach like a teacher and not a guitar player showing you what they know.     I want you to know- for hours on end i have been watching theory videos trying to grasp how theory works on the guitar (most are for piano). I never could figure out how to make chords or understand the makeup of the ones ive been using. Thank you so much for this video- it has actually helped saved me. Literly 3 mins in and ive learned more than the last (x) amount of hours ive spent trying to understand. Because of you I'm once again inspired to keep at it. Thank you~

    Just because people / teachers LIKE the guitar, it doesn't mean the can teach it well. But you LIVE the guitar and you have a real passion which makes you so articulate.

    Just a request. every time you make a video, like this, either make another one (or keep it going) with some 15 minutes of you playing what you just told us.I swear, i could watch for hours, but 10-15 mins would do.

    There are so many guitar tutorials and lessons out there. Great guys (and girls) who post youtube clips on what to do.
