I was in competitive chorals for many many years and I don't think I've ever known anyone personally who could just flip that switch like she can. I like how every time she says "do this" and then goes into her run/vocalizations, they look at her like "shit she actually think I can hit that shit" Their faces just go blank.
You know it's got to be both a great honor, but also scary as hell picking Christina as your coach. You know there just aren't many born with that gift and her ability to just randomly use it. I mean anytime, sitting as a judge, in the car, practice sessions, it's just there. And it's exactly what she hears that she does. Outstanding.

I’m her age, when she made her debut in 1999, I instantly fell for her songs.
My current bf, who is much younger than me, says he doesn’t like her much but I can’t help, I love her! Lol I do get annoyed by her singing sometimes(rarely!), but after all I love her voice! It gets me so emotional. Back in the day when I was very lonely, I listened to her albums including the Xmas album so much. Hearing her being able to sing so well live gets me emotional. It also makes me smile to see her so energetic and lively. Such a love.

For me, I feel like she over sings. She does a run on every word. Like I get it...you can sing ALL THE NOTES AT ONCE, but can I just hear your voice without all the frills. Like when shes singing a ballad I get chills. Even her toned down teaching moments, that realness...yaaaaaas. That's just me personally.

She sounds SO much better when she's not pushing that heavy throaty belt. So much potential but that is the one habit that's holding her back. And it's a shame bc she has such a naturally beautiful voice before the note bending and distortion ramps up.

In fact doing it on purpose is exacly what holds her back. If she wasn't aware of it and didn't want it she could change it and improve. But as she does it on purpose she is not going to change it.
