Early Chicago music when Terry Kath was alive before his untimely death was their best music, in my opinion. "Saturday In The Park" is another Chicago song that you two would love and would make you both happy. Your smiles and happiness are infectious, and your love of great music makes me smile.
The entire Chicago II album, and especially Side 2 where "Make Me Smile" resides, is fantastic. In the album, "Make Me Smile" is "interrupted" (delayed from its conclusion) by a series of interlude songs that climax with the heartfelt and deeply mesmerizing "Colour My World", after which we hear the conclusion of "Make Me Smile. I believe this album, among so many great Chicago creations, is their absolute best! R.I.P. Terry Kath!
By the way, your English is very good. I love your accents too. I just love watching your reactions and the banter between the two of you - it's precious.
Chicago was a favorite group of my husband and mine while we were dating in the 70's. In fact, the band that played for our wedding reception played this and many of Chicago's music. They had the brass instruments and everything. They sounded just like them. Such great memories! We are still married, 50 years later!
Chicago has had at least 38 albums. The first 7-8 years in my opinion were the best. Terry Kath was the lead on that song and was lead guitar player. He was considered one of the best.
The correct pronounciation is "Shi-ca-go", the first syllable the same as in "chiffon". Terry Kath really shines in this song, as well as the horns, but on your next listen focus on the drums. Danny Seraphine is Peart-like with his drumming here.
Such a fun reaction, as we've come to expect! Love you two! So much good music from the late 60's and 70's. Once you start listening to this music, you appreciate how much amazing music came out during that time! People wonder why we like Classic Rock, here's why, nothing today compares.
I suggest "Beginings" for your next listen. Chicago is an extraordinary band. Very big back in the day. They've had 5 #1 Albums and 21 top ten singles.❤
I adore your little conversations. Your English is just fine, I have no problem understanding you two. Please don't ever stop your conversations, I enjoy you both so much. You both make me smile.😄🤗😄🤗
They were really a well trained and educated group of musicians. Their arrangements weren't just beautiful, they had dissonant chord structures like you heard in the intro and ending that came straight out of contemporary jazz.
Great band from the 70's-80's. They were a rock & roll band with horns & blended elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, & pop music. They had a lot of great songs such as "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?", "Beginnings", "Feelin' Stronger Everyday", "Questions 67 & 68", "I'm A Man", "If You Leave Me Now", "Hard To Say I'm Sorry", "Saturday In The Park", "Colour My World", "You're The Inspiration", "Will You Still Love Me?", "Look Away", "Old Days" etc.
Great song but better yet listened to without stopping as the start of a string of seven pieces collectively called "Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon". Great reaction.
Great reaction to "Make Me Smile", it really is an uplifting song performed flawlessly. It is also the beginning of a side long suite on Chicago II, called "Ballsd to a Girl in Buchanon". Try it, you'll lke it. Love your honest input and reactions.
I love listening to your explanations. Both of you speak English with great precision and your take on the music puts a smile on my face! Your accents are awesome too! Keep up the great analysis and thank you!
Color My world is a simple love song by Chicago without the horns-hfirst half of the song is a simple piano medley with vocals and flute at the end. Band is pronounced "she-cah-go
I have to say that your English (both of you) is better than a lot of native English speakers. As I said in past comments of mine - I'm not sure which I enjoy more ... your reactions to the music or watching the Love you have for each other. Both of you ALWAYS "Make me smile"!
Agree……the music from the seventies. Not like what’s popular today…..the stars can’t play instruments and don’t write half of their own stuff. These folks…..write the song, compose the music, sing it and play the instruments. Today…….they even use auto tune to make themselves sound better than they are.
OH - I can't believe I MISSED THIS ONE!!! They are truly one of my FAVORITE bands. RIP, Terry Kath. I like their music from when they were "Chicago Transit Authority" (CTA)....that was from their EARLY days!! I always said it "shi-COG-o".... :) There is NOT A BAD SONG by this band. Even after Terry Kath passed...and, their sound changed in the 80s....it was a softer sound - but, I like both sounds....just prefer THIS time period!! HUGS, YA'LL!!
Chicago had 3 lead singers the late terry kath singing this song and Robert lamm who sings “does anyone know what time it is” and Peter cetera who sings “25 or 6 to 4”
Love your reactions just got hooked on these last night. My brothers had a 13 piece rhythm and blues R&B they call them. I remember when I was young and they would practice in our basement the house shook so much my mother would have to take down all her wall decorations.
🇬🇧 I think I only know 2 Chicago songs "If You Leave Me Now" & "Its Hard For Me To Say I'm Sorry". Both beautiful songs that I think you will both love. ❤🎼🎶🎙️
Sample ‘introduction’ their first song from first album, that introduces the band and its parts- Terry kath played like jimi and sang like ray Charles!!
If you like this music you really need to check out the young rascals start with groovin, good lovin, how can I be sure those are a good start I love that I have discovered your channel you two are such a breath of fresh air on these reactions
If you like Chicago, check out Leonid & Friends at Russian band that covers Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, Blood, Sweat & Tears and other groups. You won't be disappointed.
As you enjoyed Chicago (shikago) there is a band called Lighthouse that came out around the same time in Canada. Brass section heavy also. Try their songs Hats Off To The Stanger or One Fine Morning. Enjoy on your own time. Enjoy!
Chicago, "shuh kaa go". The first syllable does not sound like "chai" or "shy", although it seems like it should from the spelling. It's the Native American name of the area where the city is now. You are pronouncing it just fine. One of my favorite Chicago songs is "Saturday in the Park". Also, "Old Days".
That is the authentic pronounciation, definitely. Or even better, “shuh-CAW-go.” Emphasis is always on the second syllable, “CAW”. If you hear someone pronounce it as “shuh-CAW-go” or “shuh-KAA-go” you know you are talking to a native Chicagoan.
Early Chicago music when Terry Kath was alive before his untimely death was their best music, in my opinion. "Saturday In The Park" is another Chicago song that you two would love and would make you both happy. Your smiles and happiness are infectious, and your love of great music makes me smile.
I agree. It just wasn't quite the same after Terry's death.
Agreed
She makes him smile. He makes her smile. You two make me smile. Happy days are here again!
AGREE!
Don’t think I’ve seen Dominica smile more. Great song for both of you, two really good people. And your English- just fine with me.
Chicago sure put a big smile on her face
The singer on this track is Terry Kath who had the greatest blues voice ever. He was also one of the greatest lead guitar players. RIP Terry.
Got that right!! 👍🏻👍🏻He was amazing ❤
You are a perfect picture of love between a man and a woman. God bless your marriage continuously.
70'S Music Rocks ! Tha's when Music was Pure and Organic ! 😜😅🤗

The whole suite that Make Me Smile and More Than Ever are part of is awesome.
You 2 give me hope! Really enjoy your interactions and reactions.
...in this crazy world....not much love, friendship....who's the President? Sorry, had to throw that in there!😢
@michaelasay8587 Way to keep it light-hearted. Lol! As far as your question goes, do we ever really know?
You can't go wrong with this group. They have a ton of classic songs.
🎉this album will make me smile from 1970! Many great songs, rip Terry kath!!
"Beginnings" and "Saturday In The Park" should be your next Chicago indulgences. "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is" is another.
By the way, your English is very good. I love your accents too. I just love watching your reactions and the banter between the two of you - it's precious.

I still miss Terry Kath to this day! Lucky for us their music is immortal.
SAME - he was SIMPLY AMAZING - was the "old soul" to the band....SO GOOD!
Terry Kath was very underrated, amazing voice and one of the best Guitar players in the world, in my opinion, so tragic we lost him so young.
Such great musicianship. Their way of playing together and being so 'tight' but also playing loose is unique.
Chicago's so easy to like
Chicago has had at least 38 albums. The first 7-8 years in my opinion were the best. Terry Kath was the lead on that song and was lead guitar player. He was considered one of the best.

As in “you piece of chi…ffon.” 😂
One of the few American pop/rock bands of 60s-70s which used a lot of horns.
My favorite trumpet playing band... My mom took me to there concerts when I was a kid... You will not regret doing more music from Chicago...
Such a fun reaction, as we've come to expect! Love you two! So much good music from the late 60's and 70's. Once you start listening to this music, you appreciate how much amazing music came out during that time! People wonder why we like Classic Rock, here's why, nothing today compares.
Every high school marching band in the 70s played Chicago at halftime of the football games
...Saw them in the early 2000's....they played for 3 hours straight!!
One of the all time great debut albums. I have lived in Chicagoland over 61 years and it is pronounced with a “sh” sound.
Chicago was never the same after Terry Kath died in 1978
I suggest "Beginings" for your next listen.

Excellent! Their first big hit. One of many many hits they had! Great band! ❤
My favorite Chicago song!!-shows all of their individual talents!
Love that sing. Love Chicago. SH SOUND. SHI-CAGO
From a Springfieldian... approved!
Great band from the 70's-80's. They were a rock & roll band with horns & blended elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, & pop music. This is why I subscribed. Watching you two enjoying the song and each other.
"You always make me smile", smooooth.
Need to see the live version of this or the whole Tanglewood concert. Amazing!
You both always make me smile.
Great song but better yet listened to without stopping as the start of a string of seven pieces collectively called "Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon". Great reaction.
When they formed in 1968 they were originally called the Chicago Transportation Authority, shortened to CTA.
Actually when they formed they were called "The big thing", then renamed Chicago Transit Authority, what a great band 👍
Passion is what I get from it.
Make Me Smile is part of a longer song or "suite" called Ballet for A Girl In Buchannon which is awesome ... Almost 13 minutes long.
Chicago was the first concert I went to
Great reaction to "Make Me Smile", it really is an uplifting song performed flawlessly. It is also the beginning of a side long suite on Chicago II, called
"Ballsd to a Girl in Buchanon". Try it, you'll lke it. Love your honest input and reactions.
I love listening to your explanations. Both of you speak English with great precision and your take on the music puts a smile on my face! Your accents are awesome too! Keep up the great analysis and thank you!
Chicago has a TON of Great songs that were hits! Keep on diving into them! Love the brass from this group!❤
Color My world is a simple love song by Chicago without the horns-hfirst half of the song is a simple piano medley with vocals and flute at the end. Band is pronounced "she-cah-go
Luuuuv u two guys , adorable!Chicago made u smile!!!
Great reaction to a great song! You guys make me smile. 😊
Chicago makes me smile✌️
I have to say that your English (both of you) is better than a lot of native English speakers.
As I said in past comments of mine - I'm not sure which I enjoy more ... your reactions to the music or watching the Love you have for each other. Both of you ALWAYS "Make me smile"!
They did contribute music for a movie in the early 70s and several of them were even in the movie, Electra glide in Blue
Their musicianship is unsurpassed, the horns and everyone but Terry were professionally trained at DePaul university in chicago
The great 70ths music. The decate of New stiles. Hardrock, soul, punk, disco, glitterrock, progrock etcetera!
Chicago was special and the first of this kind, please do more
Your subs are great, giving you great suggestions!
I had forgotten this one. Good memories.

You made me smile 😊 great song! Love your channel, thanks 😊
Chicago had 3 lead singers the late terry kath singing this song and Robert lamm who sings “does anyone know what time it is” and Peter cetera who sings “25 or 6 to 4”
Your command of English is excellent to me.
Great reaction to a very exciting tune.
You need to hear the entire song. This is just one part of it.
The full song is called "Ballet for a girl in Buchanon."
Everyone in the channel were so happy 😊 😀😀 because both of you smiled to the smiling song 😂😂❤❤❤
Keep it up guys
You are unique and diverse on YT
Love your reactions just got hooked on these last night. My brothers had a 13 piece rhythm and blues R&B they call them. I remember when I was young and they would practice in our basement the house shook so much my mother would have to take down all her wall decorations.
You guys make me smile 😊 ❤
This song sounds like CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY had so much fun recording this track. It was a holiday for instruments.
...and, that fast guitar in the middle of the song: Terry Kath!!
This was the first ALBUM I bought with my allowance money. I was about 13. Still have the album. Still love the music.
Great review of a great song with the unique voice and guitar of Terry Kath. Chicago at their best! Thanks 👍
Music is a language we all understand.
Great band!
🇬🇧 I think I only know 2 Chicago songs "If You Leave Me Now" & "Its Hard For Me To Say I'm Sorry". Both beautiful songs that I think you will both love. ❤🎼🎶🎙️
I would love to see your reaction to another of Chicago's love songs, "BEGINNINGS", which is both beautiful and fun!
Your reactions are wonderful.
Ok you both make me smile then 😊 pronounced Sheecago(Chicago)
Shih-KAH-goh
A great Chicago song sung by Guitarist Terry Kath RIP 🙏if it's not said it's pronounced "Shicaggo"
this was the edited version....the long suite version, which is titled "Ballet For a Girl in Buchannon".
Next to The Bee Gees, Chicago is the best. They joined The Bee Gees on the Spirits Having Flown album.
If you like Chicago, check out Leonid & Friends at Russian band that covers Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, Blood, Sweat & Tears and other groups. You won't be disappointed.
Listen to the whole suite: Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon. It's a bloody masterpiece.
Terry Kath!
As you enjoyed Chicago (shikago) there is a band called Lighthouse that came out around the same time in Canada. Brass section heavy also. Try their songs Hats Off To The Stanger or One Fine Morning. Enjoy on your own time.
Enjoy!
A good love song....with a beat!❤
This song and Old Days are my 2 favorite Chicago songs.
Nobody's mentioned Color my World yet? Didn't anyone here go to a wedding in the 70s or 80s?
My wedding song in 74.
Pure joy.
Terry Kath was a rock n roll God.
It pronounced like shicago and many other pronunciations depending what part of the City you're from.
Great song, talented band.
Thankyou for doing my favorite song by Chicago ! Please do BEGINNINGS and JUST YOU AND ME next by Chicago note seen them 3 x ...More Terry Kath RIP
Kath is at his “Ray Charles” best here. Kind of a vanilla track but he charges it up and the horns do the rest.
Great choice, now on to I'm a Man
Ok, you guys are the cutest. ❤
🇬🇧 Wow, this sounds like a Motown kinda song, (or is it me)? I've never heard this one before. It's great, love it. ❤🎼🎙️🎶......SH icago 😊
Great reaction. There is another song titled Make Me Smile that you may like, it was in the seventies a hit by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.
That's the song they just did.
