By the way, I really enjoyed your conversation about dialects with Didi ((ruclips.net/video/hawZXivP9aE/видео.html) and I can say that I had the same experience as you. I trully can relate !
I am French and I was born in Brittany (this is the region located in the northwest of France.) When I was young, in the sixties, Parisians used to make fun of us, Bretons, saying that we were uneducated and backward peasants. They laughed at our accent. (French people put emphasis on the last syllable of a word, for example "maiSON" ("house") whereas when the Bretons spoke French, they placed emphasis on the penultimate syllable "MAIson".)
I was really ashamed of being Breton. But one day, in 1972, Alan Stivell, one of our Breton singers, came to the Olympia , which was at the time the most famous concert hall in Paris. People discovered our culture, saying: "WOW , this music is great! And, overnight, all of France started singing Breton songs like "Tri Martelod" ("Three sailors") .If you don't know, it's Celtic music, like Irish music because Bretons and Irish are people of the same origin. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Stivell)
Alan Stivell was the eye-opener for me, as Seo In Guk was for you. I am no longer at all ashamed of my origins or my culture. Since Alan Stivell was proud to be Breton, why wouldn't I?
Today, Bretons have taken their revenge. Brittany is one of the most dynamic regions in France. Every year it attracts thousands of tourists who are attracted by the landscapes, the beaches, the culture, the music, the food... The accent has been lost a lot because television mainly conveys the standard accent of the Paris region, as is the case in Korea with the Seoul accent.
But the Breton language (because in fact it is not a dialect but a real language of Indo-European origin in the same way as Gaelic, French, English, Russian, etc.) is now taught in schools.
      글을 많이 써서 미안해요!
      안녕, 선생님.

@@MissGardenGG1 Wow! Thank you for long comment! :) I like your story and It's very interesting to me! and I respect you because you are 72 years old, but I think your passion is younger than mine! 😄

@@koreaneldo Please, feel free to explain! 🙂
By the way, if I said I was 72 years old, it was not because I wanted to be particularly respected; it was just because you first asked me why I find Korean difficult. I tried to explain and added that I was old because, of course, my neurons are not as efficient as when I was young. For an older person, learning a new language so different from their mother tongue is necessarily more difficult than for a young person. It is a real challenge!
And , please, I can tell you not all old people deserve respect. Many seem to take respect for granted, I'm not like that. I firmy think everyone, young or old , must gain respect through their behavior.🙂
      Have a nice day!
