  • Lately I've been using Google Earth VR to take virtual "walks" around different places. This video demonstrates the process I use to take those walks.

Is it really enjoyable to 'walk' around places? Cause it looks laggy and artificial the movement. Could it be possible to make an algorithm or something to make the transition between the steps more immersive? Btw nice video, it gave me the idea of the experience I was imagining in a while.

Enjoyable? Well, somewhat better than just walking on a treadmill would be. You do have to suspend disbelief a bit if you want to try to immerse yourself in the experience.
As for making it smoother, anything like that would have to be done within Google Earth VR, and it seems to be a more or less abandoned project. I haven't seen any new features added to it since I first started playing around with it.

The music that I chose to listen to while demonstrating my process comes across as super quiet. Still, RUclips was able to identify the song and warn me about the copyrighted content.

So, what's going on with the generators, you might not have registered all the trailers before getting to the generators. There's a film project happening inside the park. I see it all the time around Los Angeles :)

Which VR headset are you using for this? I'm a newbie wanting Google Street View like that.

I mentioned it in the video, but I'm using the original HTC Vive. Google Earth VR is freely available on Steam; I don't know about the Oculus marketplace or any other sources.

@@cps2715Is an HP G2 Reverb still a good option? And is a 3060 sufficient?
I plan on buying one soon.

      @@Fr33Styl3Br3k0ut I'd get a reverb but go for a 4070 upwards.

Can this be used while walking on a treadmill?

I suppose so, but you'd still have to manually move to the next picture. It's kind of like walking through a PowerPoint slide show.
