People get burnt out and less people in the woods, Yeah right, come to Louisiana bruh the woods stay full of people year around. They either squirrel hunting, rabbit hunting, deer hunting, turkey hunting, spring squirrel hunting, shed hunting, scouting for next seasons, or working on their property or riding roads and hitting work days at hunting clubs. Not to mention riding horses and just generally recreating, woods stay full of people 24 and 7 I find this in most areas as well, but especially my home state here in LA, it never ends
MI: 2nd rut can be great. Temp is finally dropping. Like you said, next two weeks should offer opportunity. I know michigan had a rough rifle hunt opener with few immature buck sightings and almost no mature buck sightings. They're still out there.
In big woods, does the double side rubs and first scrape outside the bedroom rule apply as well? or do mature bucks travel and switch beds too frequently to focus on finding his bedding area?
Also to mention at least my area I've been hunting is post rut is alot more likely to get mature bucks that aren't normally on your property much that randomly pops in comes back during daylight when you mainly have a doe with yearling these mature bucks come to these areas they only pop in and out once and awhile to breed these does on smaller properties
I’m from Michigan and honestly I’m about over with our current laws and regulations on hunting. Literally every other state around us is known for having big bucks but for whatever reason we don’t. If we could just switch to Ohio’s hunting laws then hunting would be way better, just saying there is a reason why we have an out of control population.
Nope, rub lines and scrape I have set by and in between them and bedding and nothing! And I even have a spot where there was 10-20 rubs and crazy amount of trails

I hope I see the bigger mature bucks soon…that we had all spring summer and fall….and then the dogs showed up and running deer off. No more pics of any of the big bucks. Spend lots of money and time to make it better and someone else’s dogs ruin it. NOT happy at all…..

It's crazy to me that people get worn out hunting for 3 weeks... I've been hunting non stop since early September with the start of bear season.
Are you looking to sit downwind of scrapes in funnels or over scrapes during this time?
