My wife got me an Ultra model for my birthday early in the year. And I love it so much. First and mainly because it’s from my wife. Second;y, it is an amazing WDT tool.
Hi there. It's made to be optimized for 20g baskets, as that's what we make and sell the most of (as well as being the biggest industry standard). The pins can be snipped a couple of millimeters shorter very easily, or shorter pins can also be purchased in our "spare parts" section of the homepage. Thanks so much!
Nice, have you considered making it latch onto the portafilter ears so you don't have to hold it while turning? Portafilters can get quite hot when you hold it like that :)
Is the bottom section magnetic, so that in stays in place and you can spin with one hand? Or do you have to hold down the bottom in order to spin the top section?
another pointless device for a purpose that’s already fulfilled by a tool for 1/12 of the price. makes sense the founder is from LA and worked at apple because he wants to be the next steve jobs that gets to con coffee lovers with either too much money or naïveté to buy a $5000 grinder or $300 WDT tool because some hacks on the internet told them it’ll make them the best espresso in their life. The only difference is apple actually had merit in creating an alternative product fulfilling niches, the only niche this fulfills is for people who have more money then they know what to do with wanting a sleek pretty needlessly complicated showtool when their servant makes them their coffee in the morning. Because god knows no one who makes their own coffee is buying this.
Bro, if people only bought for practicality, we wouldn't have a reason to push the limits of engineering. Is it necessary? No. But you're obviously not their target market. The people who own $6000 espresso machines and $3000 grinders at home are who this is for. The people who probably have a Porsche in their driveway.
@@NubRusty I could understand that point of being for the people who already own ridiculously expensive high brand machines that are for the top 1% of ownership but weber is not marketing itself as this exclusive art of a product that fulfills it’s function with grace and beauty. It’s also trying to push itself as an unrivaled peak of performance and precision for a pull of espresso. I guarantee you there are people people in a low income bracket trying to save up and buy this convinced that it will make their coffee perfect. That’s their problem yes, but it’s also a problem brands like these market themselves as the peak of performance IMO. I understand your opinion too however
Markus those of us who own cafes also need a product that is over engineered as we can't have persistently exposed needles in a bustling shop with baristas moving swiftly and efficiently around. The aesthetic of the tool adds, instead of detracts, from our commercial grade equipment. At home in a controlled environment the full manual cork solution more than suffices.
Is this thing doing DEEP wdt or just rakes the top? The needles look waaaaaaay too short to be able to touch the bottom of the basket and I didnt see a mechanism to adjust the needle height. If it only RAKES the top then this is a massive massive massive FAIL. I hope I am wrong.
Love it. Brilliant design as always!
Thanks, Jock!

Thank you for sharing! We're pleased to hear it's nearly as amazing as your wife 😃
Different sizes is a must! Strietman CT 2 please please!
Beautiful design. This might actually bring WDT to the cafe scene.
We think it will. Thanks!
@@WeberWorkshops I ordered four (1 ultra, 3 std) to pilot in my cafes, hoping to get the stock on hand.
Needs to be integrated with Chat GPT to modulate raking amplitude based on the style of coffee and personal taste. Not nearly overengineered enough
i totes agree!!!
Can't believe it's already sold out for preorder! I figured I had more time when I was debating hitting the buy button.
There's 3d printed versions of it...the design is stolen
This trailer is glorious.
Love it! Looks over-engineered AF, but amazing none the less.
That's the point really.
De show! 🎉……… This is why we must be grateful of "Channeling" because it gives us motivation for innovation.
Imagine going to Switzerland to study mechanical watch making then coming back to make a coffee rake.
Sha yit odear where the heck does the price come from for these..?? Product maybe very smart but wow that is extremely expensive.
Quick Q. It doesn't fit properly into 18g VST baskets, what are your suggestions? Seems like a premium price to pay but doesn't "fit all users"

How does it adapt to the different depths of each basket?
It doesn't
I need this, I don’t know why, but I do
Looks great, but for $721 AUD? No thanks 😂
Looks sweet!
What is the music? Great score.
Nice, have you considered making it latch onto the portafilter ears so you don't have to hold it while turning? Portafilters can get quite hot when you hold it like that :)
The rubber foot on them is actually very grippy, so very easy to do with just one hand.
will you make one for a 54mm portafilter
perhaps!
I’m not going to lie, planetary gear boxes are cool!
aren't they, though? 😎
ingenious
Is the bottom section magnetic, so that in stays in place and you can spin with one hand? Or do you have to hold down the bottom in order to spin the top section?
There’s a co-molded rubber foot that grips the portafilter lip so you can operate it with one hand ✌🏼
I like my grounds raked, not stirred...
James Bond type vibes
What size is it? I hope it’s 58mm :]
Yes, it's for 58mm
We need that thicc tamp please 🙏
There’s a 3d print file similar to this one.
Think i'm in love or is it the music
What’s the difference between standard and ultra
Ultra = brass gears
Standard = glass fiber reinforced polymer (regular black color) gears
Brilliant! Ordered.
Thanks so much! 🙏🏼
How do you rate it? @fluterra
Insanely over engineered, as all things are with Weber Workshops. Bravo.
Thanks, Freddy!
What is it with espresso companies using Spy music for advertisements?
Moonraker is the name of a Bond flick.
$300, 2.4 kilos.
Ouch!!!! One is like $400! That’s insane
This thing is $500....are you taking the piss?!
Make a 51mm version you cowards!
All for $1000

Some people have more disposable income than you. Crazy concept
