That's correct, this version of the unit was made in 1998 and for some reason they did not include phantom power which is what you need to be able to get a signal from a condenser mic. So in order to run a condenser mic, first you need an external device or another interface with phantom power
Hey Vincent, unfortunately you need the Line6 Podfarm software to use with this. I dont think they have support for this unit anymore since they updated it a few years ago

Have any static issues with your unit? I have a UX2, not sure how different they are but mine picks up some nasty electrical static that isn't related to ambient sound...
Unfortunately I experienced the same thing. I dont think there is a way around it with this unit. I know they updated this one with something new. Although I have not tried it, I think it would probably be better with the issue at hand

I have had this UX1 for 9 years or something now, I am thinking of buying a Focusrite Scarlett GEN 3 today and I really hope there is a huge difference in sound quality and stuff.
I use instruments for vocals cause i dont have xlr plug for my mic. When i record the vocals isnt picking up the same volume, i mean it fluctuates like crazy. Would it be better to use xlr instead?

You should be able to run a cable into the instrument port and it should pick up the signal just fine. If you need to go stereo just find a cable with two left and right jack into a single stereo jack and it should work just fine

I have a question... I had already downloaded the monkey downloader..but it can't download the drivers...I had already tried to download them from the line 6 website. I can download the drivers for my windows 7 but still it won't recognise my ux1..any suggestions thanks

@@miguelsantos84 Hey Miguel, its no problem, I like helping people. Yes you can use your webcam at the same time. In terms of sync you will need an editing program. I use PowerDirector 17 which lets you bring in the footage and then the song you recorded using the Line6. Once you have them in the timeline then there is a Sync button that will do it for you. However you can also try to match it yourself by using your eyes to match the wave form but that is very difficult to achieve sometimes. As far as burning cd's you will need a pc with a cd drive or and external cd drive which will then let you burn you music to cd. Hope that helps

Well for simple recording yes but not for a pro recording. Normally drums require more mics and overall a different source for recording. But if you just need it for a personal recording as a reference then this will be just as good
@@artemorbid Alright... I'm currently using the UMC22, and it isn't very good with distortion, or the impulse responses. Unless I'm doing something wrong. The UMC was $70, while some other interfaces are nearly 200. That's too much money for mistaken purchases.

The process is similar, all you do is use the line in from the back. The mixers line out goes into the ux1 line in.

Sorry for the 2 year reply, yes, you can do Bluetooth as long as the device is connected to the pc
Is there a reason you preferred this preamp to others? It seems comparable to my Scarlet 2I4? Again this is a better value.
Its about the same- I guess it depends on how you use it with the audio recording program.

You can go into the settings of the Line6 via Pod farm and make sure it is set to stereo

@@aadityakiran_s It does work on Windows 10. It has a single instrument and microphone inputs, so you can't record so many things simultaneously.
