Gone far too soon. As a life-long Batman fan I can safely say I’m devastated. I didn’t know the man personally, never met him at a Con, but with his passing I feel like a piece of my childhood was also stripped away. Thank you Mr. Conroy for all of the memories. I remember as a young boy being eager to get home to watch the Animated Series - it was the first time I was really exposed to the character and his rogues gallery of villains. Needless to say, I’ve been hooked ever since.
Conroy is undoubtedly one of the great ones, our greatest detective, our Batman, the definitive and preeminent voice of the Dark Knight. We all take solace in knowing you are at peace sir, and your impeccable works of art will live on for future generations of fans.

Same. I never went to a ComicCon and I regret it. Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s the DCAU was my introduction to DC comics. Kevin Conroy was Batman to me as much as Susan Eisenberg was Wonder Woman and George Newbern (who also voiced Sephiroth from the compilation of Final Fantasy 7 starting with Advent Children as well as Kingdom Hearts fun fact) was Superman. And also Mark Hamill is very much the Joker in my mind. I might be a Marvel fan but I also adore the DCAU. For me the DCAU perfectly portrayed the characters in a way that made them human and real. Knowing that Kevin Conroy is gone I feel like a star has gone nova. May your spirit rest easily Kevin Conroy.

It's a shame that Conroy couldn't have live longer. I hate cancer! It would've been awesome if he was a cancer survivor!
I was fortunate enough to meet him in 2017 he was such a kind person. He signed my first BATMAN comic. He shook my hand. It was a good day.

I didn't expect to cry with this. I'm not even a DC fan, not even a hardcore Batman fan. But that animated show was my introduction to Batman.
That portion at the end "everybody knows who's Batman".
That was something I told myself after his passing, is that he is my Batman.
He's the voice of my generation. He's the voice I hear when I read Batman comics. Hearing of his passing was shocking and mourned him once I was off work. He'll be missed by everyone. RIP Batman.
When I saw him at a convention doing a panel back in 2016, I cried multiple times. I cried because he was exactly who I always hoped he would be as a kid. He was so genuine, so loving, and so strong. I watched him uplift everyone around him and captivate the entire room with his stories, it's one of my best memories.

He's not really gone, whenever a comic book gets read that involves Batman/Bruce Wayne, we hear Kevin Conroy. He belongs to the ages. His work with that character (of American mythology) lives forever.
I was lucky enough to meet Kevin Conroy in 2017. He was kind genuine soul. He will always be my Batman.

I had the honor of meeting Mr Conroy at a convention in 2016. Kevin was super friendly and nice just a very sweet man.
I cried for this man at age 31. My girlfriend was shocked because never cry.

honestly this feels like a nightmare kevin conroy was the voice behind my first introduction to batman ever through the animated tv show and now that he is gone it felt like we are saying goodbye to one of many pop icon taken before his time RIP 😥
I watched Batman: TAS when I was in elementary school and my sister watched Justice League when she was in elementary school.
Kevin will always be our Batman.
And now I have a knot in my throat and a tear fighting to stay in...
He Defines Batman…I have felt a lot of death in my life but this one hits pretty hard and I can’t explain why. All I know is Kevin Conroy is a legend and he will forever remain in our memories and in our hearts. I will pass down his voice to my kids and hopefully he will leave an impact on them and they will pass down his voice to their kids. We really do appreciate everything you have done you are the definitive Batman and thank you!

When I think about shows that define my childhood, Batman: the animated series is the first that comes to mind. Kevin had such a positive influence on my life, as well as millions of others. So sad to lose such an incredible icon. Rest in piece caped crusader.

I was bullied a lot and wasn’t much of a fighter. Batman wasn’t my favorite at first but I gravitated towards him because he wasn’t the physically strongest character but nobody bullies Batman and no one beats him. Kevin tapped into that spirit. His voice was sometimes the only voice of reassurance I could believe in. I wasn’t always aware of who he was but I know what he was; a really really good man

Thanks for the tribute Nerdist! We've lost a titan this week; we think that our heroes will live forever, and we are once again reminded that this is real life. I'm glad that Kevin is getting the love and respect that he deserves to celebrate his life.

I remember when I was little & the animated Batman debuted in the 90s. I watched it religiously whenever there was a new episode. I also played Batman Arkham City & Arkham Asylum. I always knew the voice sounded familiar & that made the game play memorable. He will be missed.

As Christopher Reeve was everyone's Superman, Kevin Conroy was everyone's Batman. And it wasn't just what they did on-screen that was the reason why. It was the decency and courage they showed off-screen.
I love that New York 9-11 Soup Kitchen story. I always have since the first time I heard it. For just a few minutes in the middle of one of the greatest tragedies we’ll ever know, Kevin Conroy took the pain and worry away from some very tired, beaten down people and made them forget about it all and gave them joy.
THAT is who Kevin Conroy was. That’s why we love him. And why we always will.

I think I speak for a lot of people. When I close my eyes and hear the voice of Batman in my mind, Kevin Conroy's deep resonant vocal timbre comes forth. His Batman has been my Batman for most of my life. His absence is felt by every adult whose childhood was spent watching Batman TAS.
After I heard about his passing, I went to IMDB to see his other roles. I was shocked to find "Batman" was his first "voice" credit.

That's a real, total Batman moment. He's not only helping people as Bruce Wayne, he learns something as Batman, he finds out where he's simply mistaken or wrong or whatever and sees it and makes sense out of it and corrects it.
I can honestly say I wouldn't be me without the magical dust of Kevin Conroy.

Kevin wasn't my original Batman - I grew up on reruns of Adam West. B:TAS started airing when I was in college, and I fell in love with it as a comic book fan instantly. He became a truly iconic Batman who matched how the character was in the comics. Seeing how he looked back then, I wish he had been cast as a live action Batman then as well, as he could pull off both aspects of the character. I cried when I first heard he died, and I'm crying again. Thank you for this tribute, especially for the post-9/11 story, and rest in piece, Kevin.
Out of all the celebrity deaths that have happened in the last 10-20 years, this is the only one that really hit me hard. Can't believe he's gone and his voice will forever be missed. Can't think of any other Batman voice that can even come close to his.
Never even noticed how all batman's were voiced by the same person. He was just batman's voice and now Batman will never sound like Batman again. Was planning on playing the games at some point this year so this will now be on my mind when I finally play them
I grew up watching BTAS. I didn't get the chance to meet him in person at comicon, but I had the honor to collect a DVD series that has his autograph on it. Batman forever ❤️😢, RIP, Kevin!

As a kid, I played the Injustice game, watched all the movies out at the time, was glued to the tv when it came to watching Batman the Animated Series. Batman was a big part of my childhood, and still is a character I love. When I heard he passed, it felt like the wind was knocked out of me. It was hard to fathom 3 Generations of Batman, gone. In a moment. He truly was a legendary actor, and a legend of DC. Rest in Piece, Mr. Conroy. We’ll miss you.
He was our definitive Batman and he will live within all of us with his legendary work. Thank you for everything Kevin Conroy, you made our lives richer with your performances. Rest In Peace
There needs to be a Foundation in Kevin's name, he was such a wonderful person, and his Legacy will last for generations, whether it be for Cancer, to Hunger, to 9/11 victims, anything. Keep this good Man's name going forever. He deserved it.

Legit cried when I found out we lost him. I watched Batman Animated series when I was a kid and for 3 decades he was always there and now hes gone.Playing the Arkham games and hearing him made me full of joy. I cant believe this shit man. People would always ask "Whos your favorite Batman"? And I would start with "Well number 1 is Kevin Conroy". Whenever I read a comic, certain characters its difficult to place a voice, but whenever Batman came in the panel it was super easy, barely an inconvenience to place that voice. He will always be THE Batman I hear. RIP Kevin Conroy, I will miss you forever.

Gone too soon. An iconic actor and the man who’s voice always goes in my head for any Batman comic.
I was 8 years old when Batman the Animated Series came out. I got bullied in school and I didn't particularly get along with my family. Thanks to this man I had something (someone) to look forward to at 4:00 pm everyday.
30 years later, and I don't care if it's the old cartoons the new ones, video games or movies.. if Kevin was voicing Batman you knew it was going to be done right.
To the Undisputed GOAT: though we never once met, thanks for being there for me every single day . May you rest in peace.

I’ve been a fan of Kevin Conroy aka Batman/Bruce Wayne since I was 11 years old. My beloved wife gifted me the complete series of Batman The Animated Series on Blu-Ray, and Batman Beyond on Blu-Ray on Christmas. Mr. Conroy you are phenomenal. My heart shattered when transitioned to the next life. But you are now a hero in Heaven. Your voice was golden and you will forever be, Batman. Salute And Kudos forever Dark Knight.

Kevin Conroy's Batman was something you just didn't question. Whenever he voiced Batman, he simply WAS Batman. He didn't just played Batman; he UNDERSTOOD Batman and I'm really sad that he's gone.

It still hurts me. First it was Adam West and now Kevin. He was the longest running Batman, he did just supplied his voice for the animated series but also for the Arkham series games. Gotham and Arkham won't ever be the same without him.
