I've resorted to slug pellets! The farmers use them in great quantities and we have to buy their veg because ours the slugged, sod that! Your garden is amazing, this is my dream... You must be over the moon and proud, you and ste have truly found each other for having the same dream. ❤❤❤ Xx
Very impressive Tracy , it even surprised me how much land you actually have , looked like a garden centre. It looks like the humping and dumping is all done now so let's hope it's an easier life ahead . Just a little bit of weeding from here on in 😂 🤣🤣 .
Clematis looks beautiful 💜💜. So I wrote a novel 😂😂 as I do and computer crashed 🤦♀️. So here goes, so sorry about the slugs they have been brutal this year. Secret garden looks fab perhaps just stepping stones among the beds the black actually sets off the beds etc nicely 😅. Lovage tree 🌴 oh yes I grew it once and only ones 😜. Onions look amazing my garlic was pitiful it didn’t split even after the insane cold winter. Wonderful tour and looking great, hope the weather is kind and if not kind it rains at night 😅, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
Every right to be proud, the garden is looking awesome. You and Steven have done are fab job of extending it. Now if the weather would take a turn for the good and give us all some well needed sunshine for more than a day or two would be the icing on the cake!
All that work over Winter is reaping rewards now. You’ve done a brilliant job with the extension. Except for those #@!!! slugs everything is coming along so well and it looks beautiful as well as bountiful. Great job. Xx
Your garden is fantastic, so healthy and lush looking, your work is really paying off. With the slugged squash plants..is it worth trying to cover the holes say using gardening/grafting tape.. you may find there is enough of the plant to keep growing. Then surround them with a small lid of beer..cheery way for them to go. 😊 coming to the end of the first month of winter here, but it’s more like early spring, weather has been quite warm, with the low teens during the day. Keep up the great updates, 🐚
The garden looks fabulous, you have so much going on there! The bush that you said was a chokeberry, I do believe it looks more like a blackcurrant - I have a chokeberry bush and the leaves are very different. Great update and look forward to a binge watch later as I only discovered you today! :)
It all looks amazing. I’m very jealous! My garlic has done the exact same! I’m resorting to buying plug veg plants as I just can’t keep up with the slug decimation!
Lovely tour - so good to see everything coming along so well. Slugs and snails truly suck this year but what can we do? I think we’ve tried everything and nothing really seems to work other than nighttime slug-hunts which we don’t always have the time (or the motivation!) to do 😬😬. Taking so much inspiration from your property to take into our own - I need to start making notes there’s so many brilliant things!
All coming together nicely! Was it a cardoon by the lemon balm? I have small cold frame and my chilis seem to do well in it, once we’re past frost, so I think you’ll be happy using those.
Have you tried Richard Jacksons Slug and Snail pellets? They are certified organic and pet and wildlife safe. Not the cheapest but might be worth a try in one bed.
Hi Tracy, do you have any suggestions for what to do with jostaberries? Our's has gone bonkers this year. For your mulberry i offer a quince tree... huge amounts of blossom...bugger all fruit😢... our asapargus is finished... do you double pod the broad beans?
Hi Sean, how did you get on? We haven't had any yet on the Josta and I think I have confused which one is which after someone made a comment so I need to check. Bloody annoying on the blossom and no fruit though. Yes on the broad beans, I don't mind taking a bit of time over it.
Hi Tracy, I've got rubarb in my garden and when it's growning I have the bigger stems and the bottom ones are very thin and just die do you know why they don't grow like the other ones do
Sorry for the late reply Arron, this didn’t show on my list as not replied. It’s usually poor ground , I’d mulch with muck over winter if you can. Is it young?
@@OurSmallholdingAdventure we do have a compost bin in our garden which I can put on over the winter time, it was growing when we moved in just over a year ago so not sure the age of it

So sorry for the late reply, RUclips is doing funny things to me and I do think you’re right!
@@OurSmallholdingAdventure same here! Everything seems to be doing ‘funny’ things this year!😆

Hi Tracey, there’s a channel called monologue, they have 3 runner ducks which eat all the slugs and don’t seem to eat the plants and veg etc
All coming together nicely! Was it a cardoon by the lemon balm? I have small cold frame and my chilis seem to do well in it, once we’re past frost, so I think you’ll be happy using those.
I hadn’t see this, weird! Yes, cardoon 😂

@@arroncanfield9106 I would feed it and only use lightly next year. I have one that’s unhappy too. You could also try moving it if that’s an option?
Slugs has been a nuisance this year
