I think this was a wonderful intro to rare plants of Texas, thank you for posting and I really appreciate the effort and insight you bring. As far as iNaturalist, in general I agree that poaching can be a problem but I think that is missing the point of iNaturalist, it should be primarily used for common plants and is a wonderful tool for tracking invasive species spread and has countless uses as far as plant conservation and science in general. I will agree, it is not a good tool for rare species and more care should be taken on the site overall to prevent the issues you've stated.

I agree, also when it does, my computer gave me a warning that is not a secure site to be on.
