Bigtooth Maple in Central Texas - Past, Present and Perhaps the FUture
I think this was a wonderful intro to rare plants of Texas, thank you for posting and I really appreciate the effort and insight you bring. As far as iNaturalist, in general I agree that poaching can be a problem but I think that is missing the point of iNaturalist, it should be primarily used for common plants and is a wonderful tool for tracking invasive species spread and has countless uses as far as plant conservation and science in general. I will agree, it is not a good tool for rare species and more care should be taken on the site overall to prevent the issues you've stated.
I am still concerned that some seed mixes contain Praire conflower seeds, AKA Mexican hat. The established plant seeds like crazy, plus it's a perennial. It is too aggressive a plant to include in the mixes.
Great talk!!
Can non members volunteer?
❤
Thank you for posting. I am excited to see how in the coming years how the park will continue to change.
Thank you for posting. I am excited to see the display garden.
She's awesome, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for posting
Might just be me but when I click on the SA chapter newsletter link to sign up it doesn’t work
I agree, also when it does, my computer gave me a warning that is not a secure site to be on.
Thank you for posting. I’m an amateur gardener and have been in San Antonio for over a year. Your book “wildflowers of Texas” is excellent and has inspired me to plant more Texas natives.
