The documentary ‘Weiner’ makes this pretty clear - Anthony regularly bashes + taunts his wife for not schmoozing better campaign donors, not joining him for certain adverts/appearances, and not watching his TV spots or bothering to learn his policy stances. Though she is indeed the victim here, it becomes obvious that their marriage is all about some sort of political alliance - you back my campaign now, and I’ll back yours later when you’re ready to run and need my connections - whole thing started to fall apart when the first sexting scandal hit during Huma’s pregnancy. The documentary explicitly shows Abedin saying to her husband “My [Clinton] advisers say it’s not a good idea for me to be seen with you right now.” Sounds like the union was over in that moment.
The Carlos-Danger text messages certainly make one wonder about the Weiner family's sex life at home. Was it off-the-rails kinky, causing Huma to protest or withdraw? Or was it always 'boring,' leading Anthony to reach out to other electronic partners? Not fair to criticize or dig too deep into a couple's private time together, but Ms. Abedin is caught in the collateral damage no matter how it leans.
