I enjoyed watching Bauer racing when he had serious steam in his legs! Good to see him looking so healthy after what has been a relatively substantial span of years!
It's worse than most of the pave becuase it's never used. The gaps depth increases with frost cycles raising the stones, with no heavy weight to drive them back down into the earth. That is a major factor along with all those mentioned. I rode several sectors and the Trench is different, way different.
Beautiful and precious history of Cycling

Yes!! nice guy!
Steve Bauer is a cyclist with an incredible history. Wow. Its great to see and listen to him here!!
What a heart-breaking loss to Eddy Planckaert in 1990 for Steve Bauer. Can't wait for this year's edition.
It'll be a good one!
I thought they changed the direction they went through after the Museeuw crash?
no, they didn't but they did stop using the sector for a while
The did change direction for a year or 2 to try and slow it down, 1999 and I think also in 2000.
What is the tall bridge for that I keep seeing in the background?
maybe the old mining bridge?
Railway bridge leading to the old Arendberg mine
Nice history lesson.
Glad you enjoyed it

Black Inc wheels and Maxxis tires.
Why is there a guy running at 0:28 like he just robbed someone?
