For the air lines, I did a lot of research before deciding on the route I went. PVC weakens and becomes brittle when used with air, lots of stories about explosions. Steel is heavy, copper is expensive, which lead me to the RapidAir air line kit designed for air tools. I went with 3/8 line 100ft Kit on mine. It’s super easy to set up and inexpensive on Amazon. I have a 1/2in hose coming off my 60-gallon compressor to a air/water separator, to the 3/8 RapidAir lines, across the ceiling, and into my hose reel and quick connect. If one blows out or leaks it’s super easy to fix as the hose and fittings are reusable.
Black iron pipe is fine, but heavy and you need a thread cutter, manual or electric that can be rented. Not super expensive and availability is great. Do NOT get galvanized! It's reject black. As turbo said, PVC is a huge no no. I put the RapidAir system in my shop and love it.
shelton einerwold not sure what happened with yours. My fittings went in perfect, no issues. The air lines are all push-loc so it was all easy to install. Mine have no problem holding 100psi for over a year now. Had one small air leak when I cut a hose too short, unscrewed it from the wall, re-clamped the fitting, and no problems since.
Should switch the main stuff instead of switching breakers on/off since they will wear out, put them on a 20a or 30a light switch to save the breakers.
I forgot to say I like the amazon plan I do watch a lot on prime and would be a good way to gain a broader audience or even a new one. Hope you have events at the shop I’d drive down and check it out if they’re open.
The Fab Forums as a sparky I can assure you it will save money in the long run not to switch with breakers; it also will give you a lot of flexibility not switching with the panel...not really designed to operate that way. Besides, with a shop that long why wouldn’t you have a 3-way or even 3 switches that all turn the main lights on and off so you don’t have to limit yourself to one exit? Switches are cheap, and if you are able to pipe it yourself that’s cheap too, all things considered.
Loving the shop. I agree with you about the light. When I had to redo the floor in my old shop I went crazy with lighting. I even put lights in the floor under plexiglass on each lift. Came on when I operated the lift. Same with lights on the walls in front of lifts. Hate not having light when I'm working. Can't wait to see finished
Kyle it’s not bragging bro it’s hard work . There are a lot of people that does not do work son. Keep it up you deserve it man. That is what you get when you go do work son
I agree bro its not bragging. Youve worked hard and theres nothing wrong with showing people the progress youve made not just on the house or amazing shed but also in your life. Bro i dont own a house or shed YET. But i aim to. Well done and be proud of yourself. God bless.
Kyle, nice work. Everything looks great. I really like the brick arch in your home - breaks up all the white. Anyway, YES to Amazon; use those barn lights over the sofa on a wall of cedar planks; fab up a coffee table on wheels from the certi-flat pallet; and use those cabinets/slat walls on another wall to house your air soft equipment and hang merch and things you like on the slats. Now you got a "cave" in the shop. Can't wait to see how it all turns out.
Man, that looks like a hoot! I love installing lighting, it’s such an immediate change (kinda like the electrical version of painting). Wish I could come and give you a hand, I haven’t gotten to wire up a shop in a while! BTW, that’s only a 1050W load down the middle if those lights are 150W each and if you’re running 277V only 4 amps or so. With those LEDs you could probably run the whole shop on one 20A breaker but for practicality that would be a PIA.
Oooh boys, this new shop won't definitely help me with my "build your own shop" fever... Looking awesome! Also nice to see you put effort into the lighting, way easier to film videos and it really helps working in the shop too (not having to always rigg some extra lighting).
Great update, Kyle. I really enjoy watching your progress, and don't perceive your showing us your new shop and house as "showing off." It's clear that you're a hard working, good person and you've earned everything you have! Regarding your floor, I'd suggest you do epoxy the whole thing. It really helps in keeping the dust down, sweeping up is easier, you are not as likely to suffer ugly oil stains, etc. You'll learn to be careful with the argon tanks (or use dollies) and the like. In those areas where you might incur grinding sparks or plasma blow-off, etc, you can always protect the floor with something sacrificial. Also, it's pretty easy to freshen up those high-traffic and wear areas every couple of years. I am a Prime subscriber, and would definitely check out any content you put there. If it makes money or increases your audience, do it! I love the content, keep up the great work! Regards, Jon
Some people might take it as bragging but I really enjoying seeing the house and most of all the shop. Gives me ideas for my build one day. Keep on keeping on brotha
Hey Kyle, I really appreciate all the trouble you go to, to show people like me not only how to setup up their shop to be a functional workspace but also sett it up for filming. I can’t tell you how much it helps to learn about different ways to do things. For quite awhile now I have been thinking about starting my own channel, just never had the extra time. Now I have the time and have just moved into a new shop as well. So I will be listening closely to your advice and tips. Can you also post updates on how you are setting up cameras for filming in the new shop? As well as how you are setting up shop air and water? Are you putting your compressor inside or outside? Will you be running blasting cabinets? I do watch amazon prime videos and would definitely watch your content. They definitely could use a boost in tech videos. Thanks man, keep up the good work!
You can do the rapid air kit as described but it gets costly quick by time you add the junctions the extra fittings etc. You can do pvc but you the performance pro grade that is specific for air is what needed and has 1/4-3/8 inch thick walls. Cost a little more than normal pvc but holds alot more pressure and it looks like gray pvc conduit but its air line. It what we have to run the shop at my job and its a 30k sqft warehouse essentially. Runs everything from door hingers to door cut out to trim machines. Yes its a door shop. the performance pro grade air line should work great for your shop though.
Don’t use amazon prime! You really should NOT use any pvc for air lines, regardless of the pressure rating! The constant high pressure and also high and low/no pressure WILL WEAKEN it and it will blow out!!! Its not a will it, or if it will question, it’s a when will it blow question. On the floors, if for no other reason than to keep the concrete from staining, I’d epoxy it a light grey at a minimum. If you don’t protect that floor now, you will regret it and wish you had later on! You’ve built such a nice and beautiful shop, it would be a shame to leave those floors bare;) And if I were you, I would look into getting a sprinkler system put in, just in case of fire! You’ve got a lot invested in the shop by itself, let alone everything you’re putting in it. Better safe than sorry. Plus you can get an insurance discount for it too;) Hope my suggestions help....

Awesome progress, I just built a shop and spent some pretty pennies on lights. My only complaint is how bright they are in the background of my videos, I have always liked how cinematic your videos looked. However its probably the fact that you have alot better camera gear than I do lol. No amazon for me but Ill always be here watching! Go do work son! 🤘

Just use plenty of down dumps and water traps/separators as PVC promotes condensation. Other than that, go for it. Just keep in mind, explosions are dramatic. No I don't have Amazon prime.
Looking awesome. Can't wait to see the insulation installed. Looking to do that myself. If you decide to do epoxy floors yourself check out epoxy coat. Did my 25 x 25 garage in a weekend by myself. The prep is the worst part of it. Don't do much with Amazon prime video even though I have it.
Hey Kyle. Nice hat. The house looks sharp... very nice style you've got going there.👍 Awesome to see you doing well, brother. I know you have a lot of work to do, but we all look forward to seeing this new shop evolve. That's a very good space and nice to see you are addressing the lighting situation from the get go.👌 The older I get, the more I realize the importance of good lighting. I do have Amazon Prime and watch occasionally. Honestly, I spend most of my free time watching RUclips videos. Thanks for the update and have a good evening.👊
I have amazon prime. We don’t use the video portion of it all that much. Mostly just free two day shipping. But if you had videos on it, I would definitely check it out!
New home and shop is looking great.. I have old T8 fluorescents in my little 1000 Sq ft shop. I liked the option of having the choice of a warmer light rather than the cool pale fluorescent. I built my shop 15 years ago though..The LEDs have come a long way since then.
The shop is coming along great and the house looks great. I noticed that on the back entrance, to the right of the stairs there's a corner post. You should be able to get a good purchase on that with a rifle if you have someone trying to break into your shop.
Don’t really comment on videos that often but thought I would on this, I watch all your videos and throughly enjoy every second of them, really enjoy seeing your new workshop evolve, it’s very impressive, keep up the great work buddy, regards Stu from the UK 👍👍👍
The Fab Forums I just removed 4 fluorescent 8 foot tubes from my garage and put in 11 LED recessed lights and it’s SO MUCH better for vids, actually looks brighter in vid than in person, usually it’s opposite. But I’ll add couple more of those 4 foot LEDS in couple areas just for fun.
If you plan to use the breakers to turn stuff off/on more than once every few days or once a week, you should put a switch in because the breakers will wear out and start to trip easier. The springs inside tend to fail after a while of continuous flipping..
You could actually put everything on motion sensors directly from the breaker. With what we call a power pack wired to a motion sensor via low voltage wire. Sounds more complicated than it really is.
You shouldn’t use the breakers as the main switching action for the lights. You should use a switch and switch a lighting contact. The breakers can eventually go bad over time . Love the house and shop !! Keep doing work son!
Yeah, I have the Prime... rarely watch things on there, but would definitely watch if you had exclusive content there... otherwise, YT is awesome - I've been learning so much watching your channel here bud, helping me make my dreams into reality, thanks so much for what you do... do work, son!

I feel prime has had trouble deciding what they are. Are they a streaming service or are they shipping company. That being said they got the rights to lord of the rings which I think will make their streaming service very popular end of this year. I think they’re a good bet. With Netflix’s I’m always looking for new content and stuff I think it’s a cool idea.
I missed the size of this shop, what does that equate to in lumens per square foot? It should be 100 lumens/sqft minimum for adequate light. Also I have epoxy in my shop and I do heavy automotive and fabrication work and you would never know as soon as I hose the floor off. It's the ONLY finish that holds up and it beats the hell out of bare concrete.
Nice, I love your big garage/ work space now, so happy for you!!! And looks like a barn outside, nice! Couple questions: you are planning to sprayfoam insulate?? I guess that would be easiest way to go??how about glueing some insulate-boards, in ceiling/ walls?/ Less messy, kind of easy too?? how cold does it get there?? You get snow?? And one more: how do you heat this space up?? Fireplace too??/ Thanks, keep it up, and remember, you will need one of those floor hoist, whoever you call them ;o)
Shoot I'll take one of those welding carts lol I pull mine around on a creeper. I say go for prime if you dig it. I tried it and wasn't a huge fan. No one will hate you for getting your brand out there.
The company Big Ass makes some super super good products! Definitely check them out. They are known for the fans but they make some good other products!
We have prime but only watch the free stuff lol. I’ve worked in shops that had the pvc it works well just use lots of shut off so when and if it brakes u can isolate it to repair it also the repairs are quick n easy as u already know, and you prolly won’t have lots of failures especially if u have reels it was usually when we were constantly plugging in hoses and taking them off.
Man that place is sweet!! I don't mess with Amazon at all!! to many problems I gave up on them a two year's ago. I'm still a Ebay person for ordering stuff
The shop is looking great! Be careful on those targets if your airsoft travels at too high FPS they might destroy them and you should be careful of what pellets they shoot I had one that I shot some Russian stuff at and it ate of the AR500 so I had to order AR550.
1:00 What type off door is this? is cheap? I am building a garaje and i need some door. 4 to be exact, and are really expensive. The other option is build ones by my self, but it will be heavy if i build in iron. i hear you that there are glass fibre doors?
Awesome Shop! Cant wait for the finished project! Im looking at getting a shop built in similar size and was wondering what the spray in installation costs per square foot or linear foot, however they charge out. Its between spray in and just batting, not sure which route to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks...not sure on the square foot cost. Mine will be over $10k I prefer spray over everything else for this building because it will seal everything up
@@Thefabforums Honestly, that isn't anywhere near as bad as what I thought it would be for that much space. Now that you mention it, that makes perfect sense to use it to seal up the building. Two birds with one stone so to speak. Thanks for the reply, can't wait to see it finished!
Awesome yep I’m a amazon dude. I know your an bare floor guy but I’ve set up eight shops over the world and epoxy floors are the bomb dude finding stuff and max lighting and easy clean not staining will last long time but got to have pro done sanded floor not do it yourself
I don't have Amazon Prime. I can understand you making content for it if you can add an income source but I hope you still add content here.

only bad thing about rapid air is I think their fittings suck. i messed up 2 of them installing them.. threads don't hold on the tube nuts.

Should put a rail system down the middle you can put a camera on for overhead shots
Now that’s a good idea
Kyle Mason I have this in 20’ and it’s sweet
Make it heavier duty for lifting engines and chassis ;-)
GordoWG1 WG1 that would be even better
Great idea for camera and lift

Compressor oils degrade PVC and that is why the joints weaken.

Looks great. You do a great job and deserve it!
thanks
Looking great, I'm happy for you. Keep up the hard work. Prime 👍
You shouldn’t use the breakers as the main switching action for the lights. You should use a switch and switch a lighting contact. The breakers can eventually go bad over time . Love the house and shop !! Keep doing work son!
yeah....i will just replace them if that happens
I have prime but don't really watch anything on it. I can't wait to see the shop come together!
I would love to see the house and it is not bragging. That is a really nice piece of property.
Looking good Kyle! Just picked up three cases of the same 4ft lights to get things started.
right on...seem to work pretty well. I will most likely bypass the pull chains though
The Fab Forums same here.. the ones I got are linkable up to 10 in a row as well so I can run them off one outlet.
Yeah, I have the Prime... rarely watch things on there, but would definitely watch if you had exclusive content there... otherwise, YT is awesome - I've been learning so much watching your channel here bud, helping me make my dreams into reality, thanks so much for what you do... do work, son!
awesome
I never watch Amazon videos but I have prime
Have prime, haven't really watched it much though
House looks awesome and best of luck with the shop
thanks
I watch Amazon prime videos every once and a while ,be cool to watch some videos on there . Do work !!!!
Your "Going to Do Work Son" is Earning You and All Yours a Beautiful Home n Your Self and Awesome Work Space, Congratulations n God Bless You and All Yours. I Don't have A P,, But it's another Door Maybe Worth Opening 🤔🤔😥,,, God Bless All
thanks
I would put one of the left over house lights as a light above the big garage door on the shop
I feel prime has had trouble deciding what they are. Are they a streaming service or are they shipping company. That being said they got the rights to lord of the rings which I think will make their streaming service very popular end of this year. I think they’re a good bet. With Netflix’s I’m always looking for new content and stuff I think it’s a cool idea.
man congratulations that's the way you do it right there
thanks
Dude that shed is rad....
thanks
I missed the size of this shop, what does that equate to in lumens per square foot? It should be 100 lumens/sqft minimum for adequate light.
Also I have epoxy in my shop and I do heavy automotive and fabrication work and you would never know as soon as I hose the floor off. It's the ONLY finish that holds up and it beats the hell out of bare concrete.
Its 3840 sq ft....let me no the math...looks like im only at 40 lumens per sq ft. Guess I need to add more ;)
@@Thefabforums Never a bad thing. Even at 105 lumens per sq ft in my shop it's still a little dark for me, especially while filming.
I watch Amazon Prime often and if you are on there I’ll watch - if I can find you!
Prime All day!!
It's all looking good buddy
thanks man
Look into concrete sealant! I know warehouses use it so the concrete doesn't breakdown and stain.
Shops lookin good man, comin along good
thanks
Nice, I love your big garage/ work space now, so happy for you!!! And looks like a barn outside, nice! Couple questions: you are planning to sprayfoam insulate?? I guess that would be easiest way to go??how about glueing some insulate-boards, in ceiling/ walls?/ Less messy, kind of easy too?? how cold does it get there?? You get snow?? And one more: how do you heat this space up?? Fireplace too??/ Thanks, keep it up, and remember, you will need one of those floor hoist, whoever you call them ;o)
thanks...yeah spray foam for two reasons. The insulation R value and to seal the building up
And heating up?? Electricity?? And fireplace??=)
Shoot I'll take one of those welding carts lol I pull mine around on a creeper. I say go for prime if you dig it. I tried it and wasn't a huge fan. No one will hate you for getting your brand out there.
I'd watch you on prime.
Looks like it is coming along nicely despite the weather!
“Airsoft” targets.....good one!!
No amazon Prime for me
Nice clean open space! Very nice!
thanks
The company Big Ass makes some super super good products! Definitely check them out. They are known for the fans but they make some good other products!
yeah my buddy has one of their fans in his shop
Have Amz Prime. Would def watch fab forum content.
awesome
yes Amazon prime!!!
I have amazon prime but don’t watch anything over there lol
I like it u could definitely have different work stations like a paint area and a welding area and a storage area type of thing
yeah...may build a separate building for paint
YES LOVE AMAZON !
We have prime but only watch the free stuff lol. I’ve worked in shops that had the pvc it works well just use lots of shut off so when and if it brakes u can isolate it to repair it also the repairs are quick n easy as u already know, and you prolly won’t have lots of failures especially if u have reels it was usually when we were constantly plugging in hoses and taking them off.
right on...all my content will always be free
I'd say stay focused on RUclips and putting out more content here but either way I look forward to what's ahead.
agreed...most likely just post the same content in both places
Man that place is sweet!! I don't mess with Amazon at all!! to many problems I gave up on them a two year's ago. I'm still a Ebay person for ordering stuff
right on
Thumbs up 👍
The shop is looking great! Be careful on those targets if your airsoft travels at too high FPS they might destroy them and you should be careful of what pellets they shoot I had one that I shot some Russian stuff at and it ate of the AR500 so I had to order AR550.
lol...yeah
Yeah will just be for my subsonic stuff
Would watch your video on Amazon Prime
1:00 What type off door is this? is cheap? I am building a garaje and i need some door. 4 to be exact, and are really expensive. The other option is build ones by my self, but it will be heavy if i build in iron.
i hear you that there are glass fibre doors?
Awesome Shop! Cant wait for the finished project! Im looking at getting a shop built in similar size and was wondering what the spray in installation costs per square foot or linear foot, however they charge out. Its between spray in and just batting, not sure which route to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks...not sure on the square foot cost. Mine will be over $10k
I prefer spray over everything else for this building because it will seal everything up
@@Thefabforums Honestly, that isn't anywhere near as bad as what I thought it would be for that much space.
U should do a welding cart give away
Prime = yes
Beautiful home and outstanding shop .👍Amazon prime
thanks
